Stormy giggled and blushed. “I missed you too.”

“You make me want to say fuck brunch and go straight for dessert.”

She laughed again as red flushed her cheeks. I loved the sound. New goal, make Stormy laugh more. Her entire face lit up when she laughed.

“Please come in. I need to grab my jacket and the food I made for brunch.”

“You didn’t have to do that,” I said, walking into the small, brightly lit shotgun style house.

“I wanted to. It’s not a big deal. I had most everything in the cupboards.”

I followed her into the kitchen. Honu nearly knocked down in his excitement.

“I guess you missed me, too.”

“He’s really taken to you.”

“How does he do at home all day alone?”

“He’s great when I leave him home. I’ve been taking him with me to work. The guys love him and let him run the site while I work.”

“I’m thankful my brothers are making you feel welcome.”

“They’ve all been amazing, but I’m happy you’re home.”

“Me too. Speaking of brothers. Papa, Smoke and Dakota are with me. They’re in the parking lot.”

“Everything is ready. I’ll just put it in these two bags. The containers will fit in your saddlebags. I asked Papa for measurements.”

“You think of everything,” I said, eyeing the containers of food.

“What did you make?”

“You’ll find out soon enough.”

“I don’t get to taste test. I mean, I am your man.”

Her laughter filled the kitchen. Stormy grabbed a large square Tupperware container and handed it to me.

“I set these aside just for you.”

I peeled off the lid, my eyes widening in delight at the variety of baked goods in the container.

“You know the way to my heart, bébé.” I brushed a quick kiss across her lips before grabbing a blondie and stuffing it into my mouth.

“Mmm. Is that butterscotch?” I mumbled around a mouth full of the delicious baked goods. Damn, my woman could cook.

“Yes.”

“Best I’ve ever tasted, my Queen.”
