Chapter 15

Stormy

The ride to Baton Rougetook about eighty-five minutes. Eighty-five minutes of blissful torture with my legs wrapped around the sexiest man on the planet. My black lace panties were completely soaked, with my core pressing up against his ass. I was tempted to grind against a belt loop to relieve the pressure growing between my legs. But I didn’t want to take the chance of distracting Gambit from the road.

We pulled off the highway and onto the side streets. Surrounded by suburbia on both sides as we continued to our brunch destination. I never thought to ask where we were going or who we were meeting.

Honestly, last week was both amazing and stressful. Work went swimmingly, and the brothers kept me entertained and fed. Gambit blew me away every day. Not only did he have Papa give me flowers, notes, and gifts. He also had a gift left on my door every day.

Monday I’d come home to find a gift basket with gourmet coffee beans, a grinder and a French carafe coffee maker.

Only my dad and Bernie showed me as much care as Gambit did this week. And he was away while he did it. What would a week of being with him every day be like? I wanted to know.

The stress came from odd things happening around my house. Every night when Honu and I came home, we found something in the house that had been moved. Monday, I discovered my black cauldron salt and pepper shakers in the middle of my stove. I used sea salt and peppercorn grinders to cook with. The cauldrons sat in the middle of my small dining room table as part of the decoration. Each day, something else was moved. Every window and door was still locked. I wondered if perhaps I was losing it?

The bike came to a stop, bringing me back from my thoughts. We were stopped in front of a large metal and glass gate. It looked like the one Willow's brothers installed at the club's new compound this week. As I studied the glass, I wondered if it was bulletproof too. Before I could ask, the gate rolled open and we went through two by two.

We went past the main set of buildings, following the road around behind it. Trees lined either side of the lane big enough for two big pickup trucks to pass each other with room. Water caught my eye as we rounded a curve. A small lake sat to the left, with one large house sitting next to it. I realized a few other houses were interspersed throughout the acreage behind the gate.

My curiosity grew. I wondered who we were visiting? An idea for a new MC book began to form in my mind as we turned off the main drive to a slightly smaller driveway, stopping in front of a log mansion. I think I got road burn on my chin from my jaw dropping at the site of my dream home. Once a country girl, always a country girl.

Gambit stopped the bike, turning it off before offering me his hand. I swung my leg over the back with practiced ease. He slid his arm around me, pulling me against him before I took two steps away from him.Damn, he’s fast.I giggled when he placed light kisses on my neck.

“What do you think of this place?”

“It’s like someone took my dream home and made it real.”

“You like it that much, huh?”

“Yes, I do.”

“Good, you’ll have to tell the owner.”

He took my hand, leading me in front of the others.

“Papa will bring in your goodies, though honestly, I don’t want to share. The butterscotch blondies are fucking amazing. The best ones I’ve had by far.”

“Thank you.”

Gambit led me up a wide stone path to the wide double doors of the house. He opened the door, not bothering to knock, holding it open for me before taking my hand again.

“Pops, we’re here,” he exclaimed.

“Pops?”
