She turned around to face him.

He appeared to be sincere, and his warm brown eyes made her pulse tick up.

“Okay, fine. I’m calm! I’m not mad, I’m not angry, I’m not anything,” she said earnestly. “You can leave now.”

“I must admit, you do seem less frazzled.”

“That’s what happens with me. I’m furious, I yell, then I’m done.”

“Fair enough,” he said, climbing out, “though I don’t know why I made you furious. Just promise you’ll drive like a normal person.”

“Normal people in L.A. drive like maniacs.”

“This is true,” he said with a grin. “Tell your dad I said hello.”

As she watched him jog away in her rear view mirror, she noticed he stopped beside a brand new Bentley Coupe. Her Mustang convertible was a sexy car, but his Bentley put it to shame.

The line of cars began to move, and with her head spinning, she took a deep breath and rolled the Mustang forward. Zach Taylor and his tantalizingofferhad sent the butterflies fluttering in her stomach. She hadn’t dared tell him she’d fantasized about BDSM long before Fifty Shades of Grey hit the book stores. Now, after lusting after him for months, he had just handed her the real thing on a silver platter.

“Maybe I should call Angelo,” she muttered, thinking her current fling might take her mind off Zach, but quickly knew the gorgeous hunk would spend the evening talking about his latest script in painstaking detail.

Though he had an amazing body and was great between the sheets, he was tapping on the door of serious fame and was consumed with his career. Checking her rearview mirror once again, she watched the Bentley back out of its parking space and head towards the line of cars that were now behind her.

You really do need to be spanked, and not just once. A trip over my knee every week would do wonders for you. When you’re ready, call me. You know where I am.

As his seductive suggestion echoed through her head, she silently cursed herself for being such a coward, then reminded herself his tantalizing offer was still on the table. Their story was waiting to be written, and the pages might be filled before too long—if she could summon up the courage.

And that was a very big IF.

CHAPTER THREE

THE SUN WAS SHINING, but Emma took it for granted. Whenever someone made a comment about the weather, she’d say, “Here in Los Angeles the sun is always shining.” Though it wasn’t strictly true, it was sunny more often than not, and she never gave it any thought.

Zipping her new convertible in and out of lanes while keeping her eyes open for the highway patrol, she wished she’d put the top up. She’d neglected to bring a baseball cap, and though she was wearing oversized black sunglasses, the wind kept whipping her hair into her face. She could also feel the sun’s rays burning her arms.

Her father would be waiting in the executive dining room at Universal Studios. The drive was a long one. She lived and had attended school in Venice. The college specialized in the business side of the entertainment industry, and she wanted to be in production where the true power brokers ruled.
