CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

THOUGH TONY HAD EXPECTEDHeather to be talented, he wasn’t prepared for her remarkable artistry. Her voice had a distinctive tone and crystal clear clarity, and she was pitch perfect. But more importantly, she sang from her soul, and her songs were as unique as her voice. She’d written haunting melodies with memorable breaks, and choruses that danced in his head long after the song ended.

Watching her perform had taken his breath away.

Her talent was huge.

As she placed her guitar gently against the arm of the sofa and looked at him expectantly, he patted the couch, inviting her to sit next to him.

“Heather, you’re gifted, truly gifted, and that’s an understatement.”

“You really think so? You’re not just saying that? Because if you are—“

“Stop. I’ve already told you I never say anything I don’t mean! We have to get you into a studio and in front of people. You must be heard. Heather, I want to be involved.” Then taking a breath, he added, “I think you have what it takes to be a star.”

Her face crinkled, and tears brimmed in her eyes.“You don’t know what this means to me,” she stammered breathlessly. “You’re the first person to...” but overwhelmed with emotion, her voice trailed off.

“I can’t believe your father hasn’t heard you sing. I’m sure he’d change his mind if he did. He probably just doesn’t want you to suffer through rejection and disappointment. Some of that might happen, but—”

“But, Tony, I begged him to listen. He just yelled at me.”

Tony bristled.

His humble family had made sacrifices to help him with his tennis career, yet her father, a wealthy, powerful superstar, able to open doors for his talented daughter, had refused to even hear what she had to offer.

“I’m here now, and I believe in you a thousand percent,” he declared, moving his arms around her. “Trust me! I’m going to do my damndest to make things happen. You’ll show him just how wrong he was. Him and your mother.”

“Tony, can I ask a favor?” she murmured, still sniffling.

“Anything you want.”

“Will you take me into your bedroom and make love to me?”

Wordlessly taking her hand and rising to his feet, he led her to the stairs. He’d devour her flesh with his mouth and tongue, and lose himself in her body, just as he’d lost himself in her voice when he’d heard her sing.

HEATHER THOUGHT SHEmust be dreaming.

She had fallen for the handsome tennis coach the moment he’d moved into the house next door.

When she was home for the summer months, she’d watched him for endless hours from her window. Finally graduating from college, she’d virtually lived at the window, and would walk back and forth in front of his house hoping and praying he’d notice her. Now, not only was she sharing his bed, he wanted to be involved in her singing career.

It was almost too good to be true.

But as he removed her clothes and ran his hands over her body, she knew it was real. Unbelievably, mind blowingly real.

“You’re not just a great singer,” he murmured, thrusting his fingers into her sex, “you’re sexy as hell.”

Diving his lips on hers, he consumed her mouth in a fervent kiss, then suddenly he was on top of her, his cock pushing into her channel while he continued to devour her lips. As he pumped with quick, strong strokes, she wanted to cry out, but his crushing kiss prevented her from making a sound. Finally raising his head, he paused, leaving his hardness buried inside her.

“Heather Ramsey, you make me crazy,” he grunted, resting his weight on top of her.

“Like the way you make me, good crazy.”
