“Goodnight Mr. Stanley,” the lobby guard called as he walked past.

“Goodnight,” he replied, then stopped. “If anyone shows up to see me, or claims they have to go to my office, don’t let them up. Keep them here if you can and call me right away.”

“Yes, sir. Is there a problem?”

“A disgruntled writer.”

“Ah, I see. You can count on me, Mr. Stanley.”

“Thanks.”

He didn’t expect her to show up, but hoped she would. She wouldn’t be expecting the welcome she’d receive. Glancing at his watch, he quickened his step. The girl from Heidi’s would be arriving soon, and he wanted to be ready.

Thirty-minutes later, the young woman standing before him was exactly what he’d been hoping for. Large breasted with a youthful face.

“Strip for me,” he ordered, pouring an expensive bourbon into a glass and sinking into an armchair.

As she began a slow, sensuous dance, he drank the liquor, and finally began to relax. When she was completely naked, he unzipped his fly and pulled out his stiffened cock.

“Get on all fours, then crawl over here and suck me,” he grunted, holding it in his hand.

Watching her follow his instruction he started to feel back in control. He wasn’t about to let some smart ass girl get the better of him. He would deal with the bitch calling herself Sue Jackson the way he should have in the first place.

BACK AT MATT’S, THEsuccessful rehearsal had come to an end, and Tia and Stephanie headed for home. But Stella lingered, hoping to spend some time with him. He was in the formal living room with the party planner, and not sure what to do, she stood in the doorway hoping he’d notice her. To her disappointment, he didn’t

“Hey, Matt, I’m leaving,” she finally called.

“You are?” he called back, rising to his feet. “Are you okay to go home by yourself?”

“Yes, sure.”

“I can walk with you if you’d like.”

“Matt, sorry, but we really need to finish this,” the party planner declared.

“I’m fine, honestly,” Stella assured him. “I’ll see you later.”

Reluctantly leaving, she ambled down to the water’s edge. The air was crisp. She could have used a jacket and quickened her pace. When she entered her house, she called John’s name. Relieved there was no response, she trotted up the stairs to the bedroom, and stepped into the shower to wash off the day.

But she couldn’t stop thinking about Matt and wishing they were together. Toweling off and slipping into a robe, she padded back into the bedroom, picked up her phone and called him. He answered on the first ring.

“Hey, I’m so glad you called, and your timing is perfect. Mandy just left and her minions followed. Even my housekeeper is gone. I think the crazy day was a bit much for her. Now I’m here all by myself. What about you?”

“I’m alone too, and I’m pretty sure I will be for the rest of the evening, though I can never be sure.”

“If you’re alone and I’m alone, why don’t we be alone together?”

“Matt, I’d love nothing more, but like I said, I never know with John. If he comes home and I’m gone—“

“Then you’re gone,” Matt declared, “and do you care what he thinks?”

Stella paused, considering the question.

“Actually, no, I don’t,” she replied, suddenly feeling a rush of freedom. “Not at all. I’ll be there in twenty-minutes.”

“I’ll be waiting,” Matt murmured, softening his voice.
