After a minute, he pulled away panting slightly.

“Do you believe me?”

The corner of his lips turned up in a shy smile. “Yeah.”

“Don’t ever forget that.”

He nodded and stood up, offering me his hands. “I don’t know if I’ll ever feel like I deserve you, but I’ll try not to doubt how you feel about me.”

He helped me up and wrapped me in a hug. The same urge from last night crept up. I wanted to tell him exactly how I felt and it was a good time, but I didn’t want him thinking I was only saying it to make him feel better. I wasn't sure how long I could keep this to myself. I needed to figure out how to tell each of them how I felt and decide what to do about it.

“Thanks for talking to me.” I kissed his cheek, and he smiled before we headed back to the living room.

He didn’t tell me everything Vince had, but that was fine. He got out what he needed to, and I’d make an effort to remind him more often.
