Kaden and Sai agreed.

I looked down at Niall and brushed my thumb across his cheek. “Please come back to us.”

He needed to be here for this.

“Come on, man. We need you,” Theo said next.

“You’re obviously the smartest one. We could really use your help,” Sai said with a smirk.

“Yeah, Niall. You belong with us.”

I leaned down and kissed his cheek. Nothing happened, but the little girl in me pushed me to try again. I kissed his lips gently then slowly pulled back, waiting for the magic to bring him back like in all the fairytales.

Just as I was ready to admit how silly that idea was, his eyes fluttered open. “Saige?”

I smiled down at him. “Hey there.”

His eyes narrowed, and he took in the guys leaning over him. “What the hell is going on?”

“You passed out. Your power’s been draining due to the bond not being fully formed.”

He sat up with a groan. “So how am I awake now?”

“I kissed you,” I said proudly.

“And we all admitted how much we need you,” Theo added.

He shook his head and looked down at his blankets. “Thanks for tucking me in like a baby.”

I giggled, too, relieved to have his sass back to care about embarrassing him.

“So what are we doing about it?” he asked, getting back to the point as if passing out was normal.

“We need to be honest with each other. We need to talk.” Kaden looked at Sai. “Not to put you on the spot, but I noticed there was something wrong. Why don’t we talk about that?”

Niall sat up, leaning against the wall, and I slid in next to him. Theo sat at the foot of the bed and Sai went to sit next to Kaden. We could have moved out to the living room, but something about this arrangement felt more intimate.

“I was the only one who hadn’t kissed Saige. That was really hard not to take personally. She was closest with me before all the bond marks and everything happened. I guess I missed that. I also was hurt. I felt like something was wrong with me. Like she wasn’t attracted to me.”

Kaden nodded and looked at me. “And have you spoken to him about that?”

“Yeah, and I told him something that I think all of you need to hear from me. There are no favorites. I don’t have stronger feelings for any one of you. I’m not more attracted to one of you than the other. I don’t know if it’s the bond or what, but my feelings are split evenly. It’s bizarre and so unintentional that magic could be the only answer.”

They nodded.

“So please remember that. Also,” I paused. I didn’t want to bring this up again, but it was important. “You guys cannot keep track of what happens between me and each of you. There’s only one of me, and things will progress naturally at different speeds. Right now, the differences are more noticeable, but eventually, we’ll get to a point where it doesn’t matter.”

My face was burning, and Theo and Niall looked confused.

“What do you mean?” Theo finally asked.

“She’s saying eventually we’ll all have kissed her.” Sai took over. “We’ll all have made out, had dozens of kisses. One day, we’ll all sleep with her. One, five, ten years—who cares? At some point, there won’t be firsts to compare. It will just be our relationship, so we shouldn’t keep track. We shouldn’t get mad if one of us does something first because eventually it won’t matter.”

I stared at Sai, so grateful that he explained. It meant he listened, and he understood.

“You’re right.” Kaden nodded. “I know that won’t instantly make any jealousy go away, but we can’t let it come between us. If you’re feeling neglected or left out, you should voice that and let us all work on a solution.”

“So you want me to announce over dinner if I’m horny?” Theo asked a bit too aggressively.
