I bit my lip and looked between them and the rest of the room. It was so nice over here. No pressure.

“Hey, Niall!” Travis called out. “Saige wants to talk to you.”

Niall turned around in full brooding mode and scanned my entire body like he was looking for injuries.

“You too, Kaden.” Malik joined in. “Sai and Theo, can you find another room for all of you?”

Before I could add anything, the four of them walked toward me. Kaden took my hand as they headed out. I glanced over my shoulder and mouthed thank you to Malik and Travis. I owed them one.

“The study room is usually open.” Sai pointed down the hall.

Unlike the rooms in the library, this one had a sectional couch and two huge beanbag chairs. I paused in the doorway, but Kaden tugged me in. I released his hand and claimed one end of the couch.

Niall and Sai each took a beanbag, and Theo sprawled on the chaise end with Kaden between us.

“What did you want to talk to us about?” Niall asked.

Ugh. I should have Malik and Travis come in to start the conversation. I wasn’t even sure what word to say first.

“Tomorrow . . .” That was all I got out before they started guessing.

“You’re having second thoughts?” Sai said.

“We’ve finalized some key details,” Theo supplied.

“We can’t put it off,” Kaden slipped in.

Niall was the only one to wait, and I realized I might not have to say anything at all. I thought about it as hard as I could and hoped he or Theo was able to hear me.

I want to talk about our expectations for this relationship.

It took my entire concentration not to think of kissing or sex or Natasha.

Theo sat up and glanced at Niall, who smirked like never before.

“She wanted to talk about our expectations,” Niall repeated for me.

Sai and Kaden looked at him before turning back to me.

“Is that right?” Sai asked.

“Yeah.” I bit my lip and waited.

“What do you mean?” Kaden asked. “Like talking about who will do what in the apartment? I’ve never been one for a chore list, but if that’s what you want.”

“Is this about studying and homework? You and Niall can still have your Monday and Wednesday sessions,” Sai offered.

I shook my head and looked at Niall again. Our romantic relationship.

Theo coughed, and Niall leaned back, clearly enjoying this.

“She’s talking about sex, you idiots,” he told them.

Silence.

Not one word.

Well, that didn’t go as planned. Then again, that wasn’t exactly what I meant, but it was close enough. I had to clarify. “I meant I want to know what you guys expect about our romantic relationship.”
