“Learn to stop it,” he challenged.
Don’t think. Blank mind. Don’t think about his eyes. Or his lips.
They twitched, and a second later, he was smiling at me with far too much confidence.
“Ugh.” I spun around and marched to the other side of the room. Damn him.
Travis and Daniel handed out drinks while we settled into seats in a circle.
“I’ll go first,” Malik offered. “Never have I ever gotten a tattoo.”
Niall, Theo, and Kaden all drank.
Huh. Hannah and I shared a look. I couldn’t wait to ask about those.
“Your turn.” Malik squeezed Travis’ hand.
“Okay, never have I ever been hungover.”
Niall and Kaden shared a look and took another drink. Then Daniel did. Hannah shook her head. “And you’ve regretted that night ever since.”
“Never again,” he mumbled.
“My turn. Never have I ever,” she paused and looked around before stopping at me with an evil grin, “had naughty thoughts about Saige.”
I glared at her, then nearly dropped my cup when every single guy took a sip. I gaped and pointed to Malik and Travis. “What?”
They shrugged together. “If there was ever going to be a woman with us, we thought it would be you,” Malik said with a wave of his hand. “But don’t worry, neither of us is actually interested in trying that.”
Daniel shrugged. “I can’t help what I dream about. Plus, it was before Hannah.”
She rolled her eyes.
I didn’t want to know about the other four.
“Never have I ever used a fake ID,” Daniel hurried the game along.
No one drank. Not that I was surprised about them. Being at this school didn’t offer many opportunities.
“Not even you?” I asked Kaden.
“Nah, no reason. You can drink pretty young when you’re eating at a pub if you’re with your parents.”
“Your turn,” Malik reminded me.
I pretended to consider before blurting out my revenge. “Never have I ever had dirty thoughts about Hannah.”
She gasped, and I wagged my brows.
This time, all the guys but Kaden drank.
Travis explained with a chuckle. “We considered you too.”
She eyed the guys and scooted closer to Daniel, who kissed her temple and put his arm around her.
Next was Niall. “Never have I ever cheated on someone.”
I watched the circle, but no one drank.
Theo shrugged. “You have to be in a relationship to cheat, right?”
Niall nodded, and I let out a small sigh.
The rest of the game continued without many surprises. It was nice to laugh with everyone and take my mind off what was coming. I felt normal. Just another teenager hanging out with her friends on a Saturday night—until I crawled into bed and realized it would be my last time. Tomorrow would change everything.
