His eyes flashed. “If you want me to.”

I did. I really did.

“No boxers or shirt, either.”

“Can’t have things uneven. That would be rude,” he agreed without a hint of sarcasm.

My heart hammered against my chest.

Now. I wanted this to happen now.

I was nearly ready to peel off my pajamas when a very sleepy Theo walked in. “Hey, you found the surprise.”

He rubbed his eyes and gave me a smile that reminded me of what he must have looked like as a little boy. With his hair standing in a million different directions and a crease on his face, I had to hold in my laugh.

“I did. Thank you so much.”

He grinned, then noticed the way Niall and I held each other. “Oh, sorry. Didn’t mean to interrupt.”

Niall kissed the top of my head, like he’d done it a million times, and walked out without a word.

Theo stepped aside, then pointed at a puffy black coat. “This should probably be your everyday one during the coldest months. It’s heated.”

“A heated coat?”

He nodded and opened it to reveal a button. “You’ll be nice and toasty.”

“Wow.” I never knew I would need a heated coat. I never wanted to need one.

“But these are good for the next few weeks before it gets too cold.” He ran his hand over the row of jackets and coats.

“Thank you, again. I didn’t expect this.”

He smiled and reached out to brush my hair over my shoulder. “I’m glad you’re finally back to see it.” He stepped in, his eyes roaming my face. “I missed you so much.”

I took his hands in mine and felt that sensation from last night all over again. Belonging. Family. Security. Love.

“I missed you too.”

This was where things got complicated and messy. I wanted more. Right now. With him. I wanted to reach up and touch his cheek. Feel the stubble on his jaw. Run my fingers through his thick hair. Kiss his full lips.

But it felt wrong. How could I want that after the moment I just had with Niall? We’d been flirting. I told him I wanted to get naked with him, and now I was resisting the urge to kiss Theo.

I knew this wasn’t cheating. We were all bonded. They were aware of the others, but I couldn’t shake it.

This was something I should be able to talk about with them, but I was scared. I urged them to be open. Tell me what they needed. Communicate.

But I couldn’t.

“Saige?” Theo’s voice pulled me from my thoughts. “Are you okay? Are you feeling sick?”

Yes, but not in the way he meant.

I smiled and hoped he believed it. “I’m okay. We better hurry and get ready.”

He was disappointed, but I didn't know what to do. I needed a training class on dating. And bonding. And being a mate. Eww. Being in a quintet. Being a wife.

Oh no. I wasn’t ready for that. Not at all.
