“You all ready to go?” Quinn stepped back, beet red and obviously wanting to be anywhere but here. “I’ll let you know what time we’re back, Dad. If we have to stay over, I’ll call.”

“You do what needs to be done, Quinny,” Mr. Harper said, hugging his daughter.

Quinn stepped in and kissed her mother’s cheek. Her mother pulled her in for a hug, and the look on Quinn’s face when Shelly Harper released her was surprise.

After patting Levi, they made their way in silence to the hangar. After stowing their luggage, they climbed into the plane. Luke found himself in the front beside Quinn. Everyone belted up, and she started doing things and looking at dials. The engine fired to life, and they were heading out the hangar.

No one spoke as she maneuvered them onto the runway. She was all business, focused and alert. Which he guessed was a good thing, considering they were about to take off.

Watching her amped up her level of sexy several notches. A cute and competent woman was clearly a turn-on. Plus she had the lips of a siren and a body to match.

They started taxiing down the runway, picking up speed. A small smile played around her lips as they left the ground.

“You love this,” he said.

She turned to look at him and nodded. Then her eyes were facing forward once more.

“Who wants the green ones?” Jack said from the rear a few minutes later.

“Me.” Dylan held out his hand.

“Blue?”

“Me.” Jack held out his hand.

“I’ll take the brown,” Joe said.

“What is he doing?” Quinn asked.

“Joe only eats brown M&M’s, so we get the other ones.”

“You’re not serious?” She shot him a look.

“Totally. I get the yellow.”

“You know you’re all missing a trick, because clearly the orange are the best. Can I have those?”

“Honey, you can have whatever the hell you want.” The words came from Joe.

Minutes later, he reached out a hand and passed Luke the orange and yellow ones mixed together. Luke held them out, and Quinn grabbed a few and poured them into her mouth.

“Luke bites them in half, then sucks off the sugar, and only then eats the chocolate.”

“Yes, thanks for that, Jack.” Luke shot his brother a glare. “Whereas you, animal that you are, just throw about ten in at once and they’re gone, and you start bellyaching that you’re finished while we still have some left.”

He felt Quinn’s fingers brush his; it sent a bolt of heat through him. Looking in the back to take his eyes from her, his eyes encountered Dylan’s. He was smiling.

“What?” Luke mouthed.

Dylan’s eyes went from Luke to Quinn.

“No,” Luke mouthed.

“Yes,” Dylan mouthed back. His brothers then gave him the thumbs-up.

Luke glared at them, then looked forward.

“What’s that?” He pointed to a spot below. It looked like a black vehicle was driving around by the cliff face. A small river flowed before it. “Is that your land still?”
