“Come on man. I came all the way from Florida to see you.”

Silence.

“I brought visitors!”

Before I could utter a single word, Toxic, Blaze, Savage, and the other club member were all lying on the floor, groaning. I turned and stopped dead in my tracks.

He was there before me. He was alive. My brother was alive. Standing over six and a half feet tall, his muscles had muscles. How he moved so quietly was a mystery but watching him stalk towards me for the first time in my life, I was actually scared enough I felt I was going to piss my pants.

The closer he got, the more I could see him clearly. He was handsome. He had a chiseled face, shoulder-length blonde hair, and piercing blue eyes that looked like the depths of the deep ocean. He said nothing as he moved closer, and when he was standing before me, he cocked his head to the side.

“Solomon?”

“Katherine.”

“You know me?”

“You are my sister.”

“Yes. I am.”

“Why are you here?”

“I came to get you. You’re in danger.”

“So are you.”

“Will you come with me? I can get you to safety.”

“No place is safe.”

“You can’t stay here. She knows you’re here.”

“She already knows.”

“What!” I gasped.

My brother looked away. “You need to leave.”

“Not without you. Reaper sent me to get you.”

“He’s dead. She said he was.”

That stopped me short. Looking at my brother, I said, “No, he’s not. He’s alive and in Louisiana with the rest of the California Chapter. They are getting ready to storm Caroline’s Compound down there and kill her. Solomon, please, this place isn’t safe anymore. You need to leave. If not with me, then go by yourself. I can’t just leave you here for her to kill.”

My brother said nothing more as he stepped away from me back into the shadows when a voice I knew too well chilled me to my bones. “And why would I kill him, Katherine Jane, when he’s always been mine.”
