Miles whistles. “Still looking good, Sarbear.”

“Why aren’t you off with Ian?” I ask.

“Because he had to go and say he wanted a relationship with me. And I do not want a relationship right now. I wanted to kiss Ian, have some fun with Ian.”

“Haven’t you learned by now that only the creepy guys want fun and the sweet guys only want relationships?” Joel asks.

“Uh, hey, I am not creepy. I am capable of being sweet, but mostly I am charming. And I sure don’t want a relationship,” Miles says with a smirk.

He and Sarah fist bump.

“See, we’re on the same page,” she says with a smile. “Did I miss hot tub time?”

I hold up my tater tot. “We’re on to the snack portion of the evening.”

“All right, I’ll go change. Shit, where’s my bag?”

“In the living room,” I say. “I’ll grab it for you.”

Hopping off the stool, I walk down the hall to the living room.

I grab Sarah’s bag off the floor. As I turn to head back to the kitchen, the front door swings open.

“Hey, Beautiful.”

Aaron

Rae spins to face me, a slight blush creeping onto her cheeks as she looks me over. It’s not lost on me that she left after our dance. A dance where I wanted nothing more than to kiss her. But I was worried that would be too much for her, so I didn’t.

“Hi.” Her voice is soft as she sets down Sarah’s bag, eyes never leaving me.

My pulse ticks up and I step in closer to her, resting a hand on her waist.

“No Caity?” she asks, eyes meeting mine.

I give a small headshake, never dropping eye contact with her. “No. I told you, it was just a date. Why did you leave after our dance?”

She opens her mouth, but for a moment, nothing comes out. “I—I was… sad. I wish I hadn’t told you to go with Caity.”

She swallows hard, and I step even closer, sliding my other hand into her hair. “Doesn’t matter who I went to the dance with. It matters who I’m ending the night with. And that’s you, Beautiful.”

“Ace…” she whispers, and the sound goes straight to my dick.

Before I can even calm myself down, her hand slides up the back of my neck, and she presses onto her toes.

I lean into her, our lips only centimeters apart. My heart is slamming in my chest, and I can feel hers pounding, too.

God, I want her lips on mine.

“Rae baby! Where’s my—bag…” Sarah mutters a curse word under her breath. So do I.

Because God damn it.

Rae and I step apart, and Rae holds up the bag. “Right here,” she says, voice high and squeaky.

Not how I wanted that moment to end.

“I can take it—”
