I swallow deeply, completely unsure what to make of this.

“M-my parents have money,” I manage to get out. “They….”

“I assure you, we have no interest in your parents' money, and are quite aware they have none regardless,” he tells me with a chuckle.

“Why am I here?” I ask again in a small voice. Eli looks up and his eyes meet my own.

“Why, to be a whore, of course.”

Blood seems to rush out of my head, and for a moment, I think I might faint as dizziness overwhelms me. I don’t hear anything he’s saying and it takes me a moment to realize he’s still talking.

“...will be here momentarily to take you to the showers and get you prepared. Now, what shall we call you?”

He puts a hand to his chin, looking me up and down before snapping his fingers.

“I know just the thing, you will be Vixen,” he says, his hand reaching out to pull a strand of my silver hair through it. “Yes,” he all but whispers. “My Silver Vixen.”

The next fewhours are the worst of my life.

My body was frozen as Eli explained to me the basics. Not nearly enough, yet at the same time way, way too much.

“You work for the Iron Elite now, to serve as we please. You may be scared or worried, and though you should be, know that your actions in the coming weeks and months will dictate your future.”

His words echo through my mind, the threats if I tried to leave or disobey infinitely believable.

I felt like I wasn’t myself. Disconnected as they led me down the hallway and into a large bathroom, where half a dozen other young women were naked and showering. I didn’t react or push back when they took my clothes from my body and shoved me forward into the chill mist.

“Don’t do anything stupid, my sweet, silver Vixen.”

Once we washed ourselves, we were each handed a small towel, hardly bigger than a tea towel, but I’m given no clothes. The other girls around me moved on autopilot, drying their bodies with empty faces.

My hands do nothing to hide my body. Turning away gives no cover, and shame fills me as I‘m forced to expose myself to others as I never have before.

I want to say that I fought back. That I resisted and started to plan my escape.

But I’m not that girl.

Under Pressure

“Please, I have a family!”

The man's pleading does nothing but make me cringe. Pathetic coward.

It isn’t often that people get on my bad side, at least not anymore. Unpaid debts have gotten rare with my ever growing reputation.

“Does your family know you lost your house, Stuart?” Caleb asks as he turns to the table and toward the leather tool kit he favors. “Maybe you should have been more worried about them before.”

Caleb turns to me, a question in his eyes. I shake my head.

Warning first, I convey with my eyes.

The look I get back is unimpressed to say the least, and I chuckle. Twisted fuck.
