Really?

I huff. "I was looking forward to having you out of my face for two weeks! Then on top of that, I got cornered by your girlfriend as if it's all my fault."

Asher pulls a surprised face and crosses his arms. "Itisyour fault."

"Excuse me?" I stutter out.

"I can't possibly leave in the middle of the game. What type of brother would I be if I wasn't there to help you follow your dreams?"

My mouth hangs open like a gaping fish as I stare at him silently. I take a few seconds to compose myself, shaking my head.

"This is ridiculous! Get out of the fucking house and go on your trip. We can resume playing when you get back. I-need-space," I grind out, emphasizing the words so his tiny little head can comprehend them.

"No," he says simply, turning back to his desk.

I blink at him. "No?" I repeat.

Asher sighs, picking up his pen. "No. I want to do this. The world doesn't revolve around you, Copernicus. Suck it up."

The asshole starts ignoring me, continuing whatever it is he is working on. I can see the muscles in his jaw twitching as he fights a smile, and it infuriates me. I walk over to his bed, pick up his pillow and throw it at the back of his head. It hits the target and he turns, giving me an incredulous look.

"Really, Rylee? What are we? Five?"

"Fuck you, Asher. You're a pain in my ass!"

He chuckles. "But I'm in your ass, nonetheless."

I rub my temples. "You know what? Fine. But it's time for your dare."

Asher nods, confidence on his face. "Hit me with it."

Deciding to fight fire with fire, I head over to his bed, sitting on the end. It's not unlike our first dare, and I prop my leg up, opening my thighs suggestively. Thankfully, though, I'm wearing jeans but he still gets the gist of it, his eyes inadvertently finding my hips. I see them widen slightly, a burn building in his gaze as he slowly trail his eyes back up my body.

"I want you to go down to the ministry and seduce a nun. Fuck her, eat her… whatever. But let's see how you fair with a child of God's."

I expect an argument, or even a scoff, but instead he laughs.

"Really? You realize that I can make people see God, right? It's my second most common name."

Rolling my eyes, I lean back. "Egotistical much? Are you really comparing yourself to a higher being? And good to know you cheat on Jenny."

"I've dated Jenny for a year. You think there wasn't a time before that, that I was fucking girls?"

I shake my head, standing up. "Just make sure you bring proof. Best of luck, I'm sure you'll need it."

Asher stares at me as I leave the room, not saying anything. I've got him cornered, I just know it. At the end of the day, those points will be mine, and I'll be two steps closer to getting out of here.

I only have one more day of classes so I plan on spending the evening preparing for my day tomorrow, sorting out what needs finalizing before break. It's quiet without mom and Gareth but I love it. I feel like I can finally breathe.

Several hours and coffees later, I have my day sorted for tomorrow. I'm nibbling on a piece of pizza in the kitchen, scrolling on my phone when I hear the front door open then close. I snicker – this should be good.

Walking out to the foyer, I find Asher kicking off his shoes.

"Well?" I ask, leaning against the banister of the stairs.

He walks over, stopping a few feet in front of me. He holds up a finger, motioning me to wait as he digs into his back pocket. Frowning, I wait with confusion.

Asher flings something at my face and I grab it, just before it can hit me right in the nose.
