“Hold your position. Don’t move yet.” I fell onto my back a few feet away from her.

“I won’t,” she said through her giggles.

“Okay. Now!”

We moved our hands up and down, opening and closing our legs. I never laughed so hard in my life. Jaynee recorded Sadie and I making our snow angels with tears of joy running down her face.

“I love making snow angels, Daddy. I’m not cold at all.” Peanut cracked me up. Her nose was red, and her teeth chattered like Jaynee’s, but she wasn’t cold at all, right?

Every time she called me daddy, it made my heart swell.

Jaynee laughed, sniffling and wiping her nose. I needed to get my girls inside before we had snotcicles hanging from our noses. It would be funny as hell, though.

“Who’s ready for hot chocolate?”

“Me!” Jaynee and Sadie yelled in unison.

Jay had prepared a pot before we came outside. It would warm us from the inside out while I snuggled my family on the sofa as we watched my favorite holiday movie from when I was a kid,A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Yep, I embraced the family-man role wholeheartedly.

I carefully got to my feet and lifted Sadie off the snow to admire our art.

“Come here, Jay.” I wrapped my arm around her. She shivered, curling into me. “What do you think, peanut?”

“The angels are perfect.” She clapped her hands.

“You guys did a fantastic job! Now, let’s go inside. This momma is freezing her tushie off.”

I growled. “I’ll warm your tushie tonight, Jay.”

“Daaadyyy…” Sadie covered her mouth, giggling.

“Sorry, peanut. Mommy makes me a naughty daddy.”
