The life we shared hadn’t been a cakewalk the past two years. We’d experienced some scary moments, but we weathered every storm together, and the foundation of our relationship strengthened.
I rubbed my tummy and smiled at Birdie as she went back to playing her piano. It was sweet music to my ears. Kaleb was sure she’d be musical like me. I looked forward to seeing what the future held for our baby girl and the little one growing inside me.
Our MC family would grow by three more children in the next six months. I was due in October. Emilee was due next month, and Jaynee’s little one would arrive at the end of summer. Any day I expected Tara to announce she was pregnant.
Sugar’s pretty face flashed behind my eyes. Was something going on with her I didn’t know about? I thought I knew all the happenings within the old ladies’ club. I would for sure check in on her and poke around. I wondered if it had to do with Art?
I giggled quietly as intrigue bloomed inside me. Art was attractive, no question. He might be younger, but he wasn’t immature at all. Sugar and Art would be precious together. “Birdie, I want you to close your eyes so I can ravage your momma,” Kaleb told her as he came down the stairs.
I couldn’t help but laugh. Sometimes he talked to her like she was one of his MC brothers, and other times, he baby-talked.
She grinned as she played the piano, her big blue eyes locked on us.
“Whatever. Seeing me kiss her momma won’t scar her.” He dropped to his knees and took my head between his hands. “You’ll always be my Angel first before being our children’s momma. Don’t forget that.” He crushed his lips to mine.
I melted. It would be impossible to forget I was his Angel above everything else. Kaleb made sure I knew I belonged to him every single day.
We went at each other like the world was ending, kissing and touching. We were getting worked up, which was a bummer since he needed to leave. My man put an ache between my thighs, only he could relieve. Why must he be so damn irresistible? Why did he do this to me in front of Birdie?
“I love you, Angel, so fuckin’ much.”
Instantly I knew he didn’t want to go to the meeting in The Cities. It would do no good to try to talk to him. He would do what needed to be done, so instead, I poured all my love into our makeout session.

Damn stubborn woman. I should bend her over my knee and give her the spanking of her life. Eve might be older than me, but I wasn’t an immature prick living in my parents’ basement. I had responsibilities within the club and out of it.
I was a mature man, more man than she could handle.
Naw. Eve could handle me just fine.
I went downstairs to the dorms to find Grizzly. If I knew Eve as well as I believed I did, she would defy my orders and leave the compound for her spa day.
I pounded on the door, checking the time on my phone. Prez and the rest of us were leaving at nine. Grizzly wasn’t going on this run. Storm had said the brains of the club needed to stay on the compound in case the meeting was a trap. He didn’t believe we were in danger, but Prez didn’t take chances since marrying Maddy and starting a family.
The door opened. “What?”
“Good morning, Art.” Libby appeared at Grizzly’s side, straightening her shirt.
“Hey.” I focused on Grizzly, who didn’t look happy I had interrupted them.
“Play nice,” Libby told him as she popped up on her toes and kissed him. She slipped past me and left.
“Does she stay with you every night?”
Grizzly sneered. “That’s none of your business. What do you need?”
Whatever. I didn’t have time to deal with anything other than Eve.
“I want you to alert me if Sugar leaves the compound today and where she went.” I was crossing the line, but I didn’t care anymore. Grizzly knew how to keep his mouth shut.
“Where’s she going?”
