She stared at me for a long, agonizing second. “I did. But that was before I knew you had women at your beck and call twenty-four seven.”

I rubbed my hand against my cheek. “What do you want me to say, Eve? MCs are a different world from what you’re used to. I told you I’m not a good guy before we had sex. I’ve done shit your father would love to arrest me for and throw my ass behind bars for fifty years.”

She gaped, terror flashing in her eyes. “You’ve killed someone?”

“I don’t hurt innocent people. None of us do.”

“Why me, Matt? We’re obviously two very different people.”

“Ask the universe why it brought us together. Why we feel an undeniable pull to each other.”

“I don’t feel an undeniable pull to you.”

I pushed off the door. “Then you’re lying to yourself and me.” I took her hand and led her to the chair I had in the corner of the room.

“What are you doing?”

“Sit.”

She sat and glared at my bed. “I don’t want a man who has five women in his bed.”

I spread her legs and kneeled between them. “What we did before we met shouldn’t be an issue. It’s what we do afterward that matters.”

“Do you think your past doesn’t matter to me? I’ve only slept with three men. You won’t even tell me how many women you’ve had in your disgusting bed.” Her words shot out of her tempting mouth like venom.

“Fuck, sugar. If I didn’t know better, I’d think you hated me.”

“I don’t hate you. You just aren’t the man for me.”

I dropped my head, shaking it. “You slay me, baby.”

She lifted my chin. “What do you want to happen between us?”

“I already told you. We belong together. I want you in my bed every night and morning.”

She snorted. “That might upset your other women.”

“They’re not my women!” I yelled in her face, feeling all defensive and shit. “They belong to the club. They’ve not only been with me but with my brothers too.”

“Jesus, Matt. I don’t think I could ever get used to seeing those women daily.” Her expression turned sad. “I did feel the pull to you at the bar, but not—”

I put my finger on her lips. “Don’t reject me, sugar. At least give us a chance.” I lowered my lips to hers and kissed her softly.

She responded, curling her tongue with mine. Her arm hooked around my neck to pull me closer.

Home.

Eve was it for me.

She surprised me when she bit my bottom lip. “I won’t sleep in your bed after all those women have been in it. In fact, I don’t want to see any of them.”

“None of them have been in my bed. My room is off-limits.” My sanctuary hadn’t been spoiled by having a kitten in here. I enjoyed them elsewhere in the clubhouse. Most of them were good women, but I had boundaries. My private space was mine and only mine.

“Then why am I here?”

“Haven’t you been listening to me, woman? You belong to me, and I belong to you. I’m ready to claim you to my brothers if you agree.”

“Claim? What does that mean?”
