Easton entered the corridor. He didn’t look happy.

“What?” I rolled my hands into fists as tension spread through my shoulders.

“He’s in a gang. Couldn’t find out his legal name.”

“Which gang?” As if I didn’t know. His demeanor told me the asshole was part of the Faceless Frat. The club had been trying to find their nest. We suspected they were in homes scattered around town, blending in with the locals. It would be next to impossible to find them, but we wouldn’t give up.

“A nurse told me he had FF tattooed on his chest. She saw it when the doctor examined him.”

“Son of a bitch,” I hissed. “I need to let Cobra know.” Except I’d wake him and Karma up. Normally, I wouldn’t think twice about calling him in the middle of the night. I seemed to be changing by the second now that I had made my mind up about Hope.

Not to forget, I might have a baby on the way. No more being selfish. I was more than ready to grow the fuck up. Further proof Hope was good for me. I’d know it from the beginning but denied it. Much like she fought being with me now.

“Gunner is keeping an eye on the dude. Go make the call outside. Get some fresh air. I’ll stand watch over your woman.” Easton spoke like a leader, like my superior. His military training showed in everything he did. We all wanted to patch him straight through, but even tough-as-nails helicopter pilots had to prospect.

Hearing someone else call Hope my woman made the corners of my lips quirk up. In one night, she’d become mine, and it didn’t bother me who knew it. I’d shout it from the rooftop loud and proud.

“Thanks, but I’m not leaving her. I’ll make the call from here.” I took my phone out of my back pocket. The halls were empty and quiet at this hour, perfect for a quick phone.

He grunted and crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against the wall. I guessed he was staying.

Dialing Cobra’s number, I prepared myself for his irritation. No one appreciated being woken up, but my older brother hated when his sleep was disturbed. If he and Karma were having sex, he’d be irate.

“This better be a fuckin’ emergency,” he gritted out, groggy. It was better than being out of breath.

“A Frat fuck hurt my woman tonight.”

“Hustler? That you?” He must not have registered the Frat part. I’d expected him to lose his shit upon hearing it.

“Yeah.”

“You don’t have a woman. Unless you’re talking about your latest hookup. And for that, I’ll kill you for waking upmywoman.” I heard him whisper to Karma to go back to sleep.

“I have a woman now. The druggy knocked her out.” I stopped before telling him about the baby. Until I knew if it was mine or not, I wouldn’t tell my family. It didn’t matter which way it went. I wasn’t giving Hope up for anything, not even if I wasn’t the father.

“What woman?” There was mumbling on his end. “Don’t worry about it, baby,” he whispered to Karma.

“The nurse.”

“Nurse Naughty? Are you shitting me? She’s—”

“Watch it, brother,” I growled. “Don’t go disrespecting my girl,” I told him in a warning tone. His snide comments would only piss me off. Like it or not, I’d already laid my claim on Hope. In my eyes, she was family, my family. Nobody better mess with her.

“Fine, she’s your woman,” he said incredulously. Asshole. “Just take care of the fucker. You didn’t need to call me.”

“He’s a member of the Faceless Frat.”

“What?” he roared. That was the reaction I’d expected initially. “Sorry, baby. I’ll step out.” Through the phone, I heard the bedroom door close. “Tell me.”

“Not much to tell. A nurse told Easton she saw FF tattooed on the dude’s chest.”

“Where is he now?”

“Still at the hospital where I’m at.” I glanced around. Being in this place reminded me of when I met Hope. Our first time having sex had been unforgettable. She had a naughty, rebellious streak that called to my soul. Afterward, she’d left without a care in the world like the epic orgasm I’d given her was subpar. I hadn’t forgotten about her, but I had tried to.

“I want him followed. Be discrete.” Cobra’s voice drew me back to the conversation at hand.

“I want him to pay for what he did to Hope. She’s concussed with a nasty lump on her forehead.”
