“I think I should let him tell you that.”

“But …”

“Yes. That’d mean you have to talk to him, and if you come to lunch today, you can do that.”

“I suppose.”

“I’m not going to stop hounding you.”

“Why not?”

“I told you. I’m trying to play matchmaker here. Lunch today is my first play. If you don’t come, then I’m going to up my game.”

Hannah had to laugh. “What does that mean?”

“Do you have all twelve guys for your calendar shoot yet?”

“No, I only have eleven … wait, Molly, no. That’s not a good idea.”

“It is! You can’t tell me that you don’t like the idea of a shirtless Grady holding a puppy!”

She laughed. “No, I can’t. I like the idea of the visual, but I don’t like …”

“What?”

“I told you. I feel stupid.”

“I know that. And I want you to put it behind you. I want all our old gang to be able to hang out together again – and Grady’s part of the gang now. So, you need to be comfortable around him – even if I don’t manage to pair you off. Crap! I have to go. Say you’ll come to lunch?”

“Okay.” A quick encounter at Molly’s was preferable to having him come out here on Saturday with the other guys. “I’ll see you at noon. But before you try any more matchmaking, you should check in with Grady. I’m sure he’d be horrified to know what you’re up to.”

“See you at noon.”

Hannah shook her head as she ended the call. She could only hope that Molly wasn’t going to embarrass her.

“Grady?”

He was on his way back into the kitchen when Molly called to him from the office. He went and stuck his head around the door with a smile. “What’s up, Molly Moo?”

She was sitting behind her desk and beckoned for him to come in.

“What?” he asked. “I’m not sure I like the way you’re smiling. What are you up to?”

She laughed. “Am I that obvious?”

“Yup.”

“Okay. Well, don’t be mad at me, but I just invited Hannah over for lunch.”

Grady pulled out the chair opposite her and sat down.

“Uh-oh! You look serious. I can call her and cancel if it’s that much of a problem.”

“No! Don’t do that.” He wiped his palms on his pants when he realized they were sweating. “I … I’ve been meaning to talk to you about her.”

Molly raised her eyebrows.
