It pissed me off.
I sigh and cross my arms while tilting my head back on the couch. I stare at the ceiling for a long second before pulling on the blanket trapped in Scarlett’s hands. She offers no resistance and the blanket slides with disconcerting ease until it’s on my lap. I smile like a fool, surprising her gaze on me for a split second.
“I’m still here,” I say, chuckling.
“Thank you, Einstein.”
“She’s back.”
I raise my arms in the air in victory and give her a smirk. I lean closer to her, trying to get her attention, and when our eyes lock, she smiles.
“You’re missing the episode.”
“I don’t care!” I exclaim. “I’d rather to talk to you.”
She gives me a quick glance.
“Talking about what?”
“I don’t know, Scarlett. About you, about us, about your life, about what I missed this week you spentdodgingme.
“I didn’t dodge you.”
The tone of her voice confirms to me that I surprised her by mentioning her behavior over the past few days. I shake my head.
“Stop acting like a kid.”
“You, stop acting like a kid,” she growls defensively. “I’ll have you know that while I haven’t talked to you much this week, you haven’t been very cooperative either.”
I frown.
“I told you that I wanted everything to be normal.”
“Is this a dick measuring contest?”
I burst out laughing.
“You would lose, my dear. For this contest, you should already have something that you don’t have: a cock. And believe me, you’re no match for mine!”
She throws me the first pillow she has on hand.

“And what are you doing here anyway? I thought you had planned a big party night at Milo’s?”
I shrug and discreetly check my phone.
It’s going to be a short night.
“I have an optional class tomorrow morning. Leo doesn’t go, and the guys hang out at Milo’s as agreed. I preferred to go home and get some sleep.”
“And yet here you are,” she says.
“I wanted to spend time with you. Is it forbidden?”
“I thought only sex could keep you up all night,” she quotes me.
