I pick it up. "Yes, Trudy?"

"Derek Hahn is here. I asked him to wait, but I thought you should know."

"Send him in. He should meet our guest."

Derek saunters into the room, halting near my desk. "What's up, boss?"

"Meet Diana Sangster. She is about to become our newest partner. Diana, this is Derek Hahn. We contract with him to provide security for Sommerleigh Sweets via his private firm. He's also Avery's brother."

Derek's gaze flicks to Diana, and his lips kink up at one corner. He shamelessly peruses her body until he at last meets her gaze. "Nice to meet you, Ms. Sangster."

"Call me Diana." She gives Derek the same perusal he had given her—and she smiles in the same way too. "I'm sure we will be seeing a great deal of each other."

"I'm at your service."

Why does it sound like he actually means "I'll fuck you anytime, anywhere"? She is a beautiful woman, so I can't blame him for trying it on. But in my office? During a meeting?

Diana swerves her attention to me. "I will require a bodyguard at all times. Might Mr. Hahn fulfill that role?"

"I'm sure Derek can assign one of his people—"

"No." She leans forward to stare at me with the sort of intensity I'd expect from ex-spy Logan MacTaggart, not from a business partner. "I want Mr. Hahn."

Avery seems puzzled, but her brother speaks up. "I'm happy to serve the lady."

Either I'm hallucinating or Derek meant "serve the lady" in a very unprofessional way.

Diana glides her tongue across her bottom lip while raking her gaze over Derek once more. "It's settled, then. I would like Mr. Hahn to accompany us on a tour of your headquarters as well as the factory."

"Of course," I tell her. "Are you available now, Derek?"

"Sure thing." He offers his arm to Diana. "Let me be your escort."

They walk out the door.

Avery and I lag a little behind the pair so we can talk without them hearing.

"Derek wants to shag her," I whisper. "Please tell me your brother has enough discretion not to ruin this entire deal."

"He's a professional bodyguard. Discretion is in his DNA." She gently elbows me in the side. "Unlike some people I know."

"Well, I can't argue that point. But I've changed."

"Yes, you have."

"After Diana leaves, we should visit a jeweler. Someone needs a ring."

My fiancée gives me a teasing look. "You want to call me?"

"No, I want to buy you a diamond ring."

"Just making sure. You Brits do say 'ring' when you mean 'call,' so I had reason to wonder."

I thread my fingers through hers. "You'll get used to the way we talk here. It's your home now."

She kisses my cheek. "Here with you is my forever home."
