I almost stomped my foot. “Why? You wouldn’t do this for anyone else in the club.”
“How would you know? I would. I have. It’s complicated. Now if I can get this taken care of, I can get back to you. I promise you that’s my only goal. It’s the only thing in the whole goddamn world I want right now. I don’t want our night to be interrupted again.”
The sexy expression on his face made me more than believe him, but still. Then Kingpin swept my hair back behind my ears. His thumbs caressed my face before he took it in both hands. He bent down and gave me a preview, a kiss to die for.
Drawing back, he said, “This is my job, love. How I make my fucking living, my existence. This President has a fucking mess to clean up, as usual. But it won’t take long, I promise. Get back to bed. When I get home, I want you naked and ready for me. Go down in the basement and get the Shibari ropes. After I make love to you, I’m going to show you things you’ve never experienced before.”
His kiss, his words made my knees weak.
Nodding my head, I agreed. “Alright. Be careful.”
Kingpin mounted his Harley looking like the sexy badass he was.
I was one lucky lady.
Chapter 6
Kingpin
“Are you for real? Eve left me. On our wedding day?” Hallow hung his head between his knees.
The biker was going to hyperventilate.
“It’s not like that.” I’d explained it to him just how Eve wanted me to. Even though I warned her telling him the truth was a bad idea.
Sitting across from my underling at the place I rented out to him at the Eagles Nest, I was beginning to feel more like an errand boy than President of a bunch of outlaws.
“I about killed someone because of it,” Hallow complained.
“Who?”
Sky hadn’t understood why I needed to be involved in this mess, but this was exactly why I’d even entertained it.
“I don’t know. One of the bikers we ran into while searching the Asphalt Gods MC clubhouse.”
Normally, I wouldn’t care who he killed as long as he covered it up. We were outlaws, after all. But fuck, not only did Levi and I shoot Gods, Hallow about killed one of them too. I could foresee a big mountain of shit about to befall me.
Lord, how I wanted to get back to Sky. I needed a week off. A week inside her. Making love to her, I reminded myself. And fucking her a plenty, too. Taking her to the basement, taking her out in the woods. Horror just found a hot spring out on our vast property across the main road. Oh, I had plans. And a surprise for my bride, I decided.
We had a cabin way out that would take a while to hike to get to. We’d not ever cleared a path for our bikes. This mess convinced me I needed to get away with her. It’d amount to heaven. I’d leave Pagan in charge. That would work out if Levi guarded him. I’d have to take Goliath with us, but he’d stay out of our hair. Riff could still play VP.
If only I could get through Hallow’s thick skull. He’d been babbling on about Eve breaking his heart. I hadn’t been listening.
I interrupted him. “Go talk to your wife.”
He shook his head. “She’s not my wife.”
“Eve wanted to marry you. She wants to. You two can elope now. Skip to the good part, the honeymoon. Now get on back to her.”
“Not right now. Not until my head’s on straight.”
I wouldn’t beg him. “You do you, brother.”
Washing my hands of their drama, I stood to leave.
“You say she has a secret?”
“Did I?”
