“Yes, that’s it and we are.” She suddenly looked slightly serious and then rolled her eyes.

“What’s wrong?”

She sighed and pushed me so that I would roll off. “As much as I would love to stay here and finish this, they need me for something.”

“But you’ll be back?”

“Yes, you rest. I’ll have food brought up to you, and then you can feed more later. Or I can have another woman brought in for you to feed from.”

I felt my forehead line, “You’d let me feed from another woman? Wouldn’t I want to have sex with them too?”

“Yes, you would, but remember sex is different with us, than with humans. It’s not unusual for us to have multiple partners, even while mated.”

“Well, if it’s okay with you, I think I’ll stick to just one woman right now,” I told her. That was something that I was going to have to get used to.

I was full of energy, and there was something simmering under my skin and I suddenly felt the need to be alone. She disappeared into the bathroom. A few moments later, she came out, let her eyes drift down my body, and then smiled. “I’ll be back as soon as I can be.”

“See you then.” I told her. I heard her leave, heard the door close and I found myself getting up, and retrieving my pants. From the pocket I removed my cellphone and dialed a number that I didn’t quite know. The phone rang twice before a man answered.

“It’s done.”

“Done?” The man said.

“Yeah, I’m in.”

“When you say in, how far to you mean? Did they turn you?”

“They not only turned me, but I am now mated to the Mistress.”

An evil laugh burst through the line, “Mated to the Mistress? Are you serious?”

“Yes.” I frowned wondering who I was talking to, and why I was telling them this.

“Good job, Hugh. Very good job. I knew you were the right one for the job. Now, when you hang up the phone, delete this number from your call history and forget that you spoke with me. You will wait for my next set of orders. Do you understand that?”

“Yes, Master, I do.” The phoneline went dead on a laugh, and I did what I was told. A moment later, I blinked and stared at my phone.

Was I going to make a call? I stared at it longer, wondering why it was in my hands, and when had I picked it up. Was something wrong with me? Had something gone wrong in the transition? How could I not remember retrieving my phone?

I set it down on the bedside table, the echo of an evil laugh vibrating through my mind as I laid down and closed my eyes trying to remember when I had ever heard that sound before.

THE END—for now.
