She chuckled, her cheeks blossoming with color. “You did, huh?”

“Yes, I did. As amazing as you look, as beautiful as that dress is, I want to see you without it. Even your elegantly styled hair screams for me to drag my hands through it. I want to hold you in my arms, touch every inch of your body.”

I felt her shiver. “Trevor—”

“Shh—don’t say anything right now. Just let me hold you. Let me enjoy you in this dress while all these other men devour you with their eyes, and then later, I’m going to take you out of this dress and devour you another way.”

Her lips parted, and her eyes widened.

“I want you, Davina, in so many ways. Tell me you want me too.”

“I do,” she replied softly, and after a moment, I leaned down and tenderly kissed her, our lips brushing over one another as the world around us faded.

I held her close and enjoyed the rest of the dance. She knew a little of how I felt now and certainly knew my intentions. We would have to see how the night ended. If it went the way I hoped, she would be sleeping in my arms tonight, the sexy dress she wore lying in a puddle on the floor.

The rest of the evening, I stayed at her side, constantly touching some part of her. When it was time to go, I could feel the sexual tension surrounding us. We said goodbye to Alex and Lexi as they left, and I saw Lex whisper something to Davina that made her blush.

Once they were gone, we collected our things, and Davina led me out to my truck as I had no idea where she’d parked. I could barely contain the urges inside of myself, and it took everything I had in me not to attack her the moment we reached my vehicle.

Trying to be a gentleman, I tucked her into the truck without manhandling her and then got on the road. I knew I had to pick up Devon, but would Davina be open to coming back to my house with me?

I wasn’t sure how to broach the subject, and she was rather quiet on the other side of the truck. It wasn’t until I had parked and helped her out that I finally found my voice.

“After I get Devon, will you come home with us?”

She paused in the middle of the sidewalk and lifted her face to mine. “No.”

“No?”

She shuffled a little closer to me. “Stay at mine tonight. I still have the bassinet that Carol had for Devon, and I have some extra formula that was left here.”

I stared down at her. “Davina, you know if I stay here, I’m not sleeping on the couch, right?”

She leaned into me. “Yes, I know that.”

I got lost in her whiskey eyes. “Are you sure you want me to stay?”

She nodded slowly. “Yes, Trevor, I want you to stay with me tonight.”

I wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed her deeper than I had all night. She clung to me, and as much as I wanted to continue, I broke it off as rain began to fall on us, and thunder rumbled off in the distance. “Let’s go get Devon and get him settled, and then we are going to take this back up from right here.”

She gave me a shy smile and took my hand, glancing at the sky. When we knocked softly on Lucy’s door, she opened it with a sleepy baby in her arms. She glanced between the two of us. “My, what a beautiful couple you two make.”

“Thank you, Lucy,” Davina told her as I took Devon from her arms.

“He just finished eating, so I’m sure he will go right down for you.” I glanced at Davina, hoping that statement was true. I wasn’t going to be very patient tonight, not when I knew what was waiting for me.

“Thanks again, Lucy.”

“You are very welcome. I hope you two enjoyed the wedding.”

“We did.” I handed Devon off to Davina and collected his seat and diaper bag.

“Aren’t you going to put him in?” Lucy asked.

Davina and I shared a glance, and she replied before I could. “No, he’s going to be staying at my place tonight.”

“Ah,” Lucy smiled widely as she glanced between us. “You all have a wonderful evening.”
