We all laughed and disappeared into our rooms.Angelina glanced around the suite as I whistled.“Wow, nice place.”

“It’s okay. Not as nice as my apartment in Philly, but it will do for the time we are here.”

“Do you want to shower first?”

She turned toward me, a spark in her eye.“How about we share it?I could use a quick feed.”

I laughed.“Is that all you want?”

She stalked me.“Um, no.I’d like to use your body to pleasure mine, although it has to be quick.I don’t trust this guy, so I want to get a better look around.”

I put my arms around her.“Maybe this isn’t some evil plan.Maybe the guy is just happy to have us here.”

She laughed.“Oh, you are so naïve, Corbin Hankshaw.”She kissed me, then studied my face.“You must take after your mother because you don’t look or act like Henry.”

“Yeah, I guess I do.Do you get along with him?My father, I mean?”

“Yes, Henry is one of the easier ones to deal with.Beckett is an ass.”

I chuckled, and then she took my hand and pulled me toward the bathroom. The shower was a freaking godsend, and I took her up against the tile wall as we both fed and relaxed a little under the hot spray.

After we got out, I dug through my small bag for a change of clothes.Angelina put on a robe and combed out her hair.I went to stare out the window, amazed that we were in a hotel and the humans were all around us and not attacking the hotel.Outside, traffic traveled along the road as the sun prepared to rise.

It looked like any other day in the world and reminded me of when we were free to come and go.We had taken that for granted.Would we ever get back to that?

I had just stepped away when the shades began to come down over the glass to protect us from the sun’s rays.“Pretty fancy.”

Angelina glanced my way as she came out of the bathroom.“We had those in our hotel too.I wonder how long those have been up.”

“Guess we will have to ask our host.”

“You ready to go get food?”She walked toward the door in bare feet and her robe.

“You aren’t going to get dressed?”

She laughed.“This is a Montour Hotel, and didn’t you hear that guy say that we were to be treated like royalty? If that is the case, they can get me clean clothes and ones that I am accustomed to.”

I chuckled and shook my head.“I didn’t realize you were high-maintenance.”

She wrinkled her nose as she smiled.“I’m not, but don’t tell anyone.I want Portage to have to bend over backward for me.”

“Whatever you want,Ms.Michaels.”She rolled her eyes at me.

We knocked on Gideon’s door, but there was no answer. We assumed he had gone downstairs, so we waited for an elevator. We got out to find it mostly quiet on the ground floor, but a few people were moving around. All of them turned to stare at Angelina and take in her robe with quizzical interest.

She went straight to the desk.“Ms.Michaels, how can I help you?”the woman behind the desk asked.

“Clothes, nice ones.Where can I find them?”

She smiled widely at her.“There is a boutique around the corner and down that hall.Mr.Portage said to help yourself. He assumed you would be coming down for something new to wear.”

“Excellent, and food?”

“The chef has prepared food for your group. They are in the back ballroom.”

“Perfect, thank you.”She turned to me.“Go eat.I’m going to find suitable clothing, and then I’ll meet you there.”She put a kiss on my cheek and walked away.

“Sir, you are welcome to find new clothing, also.”
