"I do."

"Every night?"

"Yes. It's no big deal—just a notebook and a pencil. I haven't mentioned that to you yet, but it really has changed things for me."

"That's amazing, Isaac. I love hearing that." She ran her fingers across his arm. "Are you saying you think God put that t-shirt in my drawer?"

"Maybe so and maybe not, but I know the shirt coming out of thin air is a small matter for God—especially in the scope of all of this other stuff."

"Has He answered any of your prayers?" she asked. "Every time I write a prayer down, I look at it in the morning in case God gave me an answer on paper."

Isaac laughed. "No, He hasn't answered on paper." He looked down at me. "But, yes, He answered in general."

Chapter 17

Isaac Alexander

Isaac had been in a few short relationships, but he had never experienced feelings like this. Ari was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and he would stop at nothing to make her happy and keep her by his side.

He had experienced a lot of her life in the short time he was in Georgia. He saw where she worked and lived, and they spent time in Atlanta before he traveled to Savannah got to meet her family. Every second they spent together only made Isaac more certain that Ari was the one.

It was now Saturday, and she had been working at the music video shoot since 10am. It was 4pm, and she would be done with her video shoot soon, so Isaac went to their location so he could pick her up.

They were at a city park under a pavilion, with people outside playing basketball and having a barbeque. Isaac had to park down the block and walk to where they were set up to film. He stayed on the outskirts of the action, but he got close enough to see Ari and the crew.

He watched them do one take. There were ten or twenty people in the shot, moving around and making the scene happen. But Isaac did not take his eyes off of Ari. She was a natural. She was into the role, and her movements and facial expressions were completely natural. Nothing was forced. She was smiling when necessary and her face was neutral at all the right times, too.

He watched her, feeling mesmerized and proud. She had on a different outfit when he dropped her off that morning. She was now wearing all white with sneakers, baggy pants, and a crop top. Her hair and makeup were different, too. It was surreal seeing her transformed and doing her thing. Ari was a silent anchor of the dancers, leading them. He watched her for five or ten minutes while they finished the take and did it once more.

The director called a stop to the action and someone announced a ten-minute break. Ari ran over to Isaac. They smiled at each other as she approached, and she walked right up to him. He leaned down and kissed her cheek, next to her ear.

"I'm so sorry," she said, pulling back and looking at him. "They just changed it and said we're going till five o'clock."

"It's okay," Isaac said acting unaffected, even though he was dying to be next to her.

"I can't even talk right now. I have to go over one thing with the girls before we start shooting again, but I'll see you in an hour or so. Is that okay? Do you mind waiting? I’m sorry. Are you thinking you might leave and come back?"

He smiled at her. "I don’t know what I'll do. I haven't had the chance to think about it. I've got it, though. Go do what you need to do with your girls."

"I miss you," she said, kissing his cheek.

"I miss you, too. I want to fight every guy over there for looking at you."

"Nobody's looking at me," she said. She ran her fingers across his arm. "But thank you for being jealous," she said. "It makes me happy to think that you would be jealous of me." She leaned into him as she spoke, and Isaac felt like he might spontaneously burst into flames right there at the video shoot. Ari touched the side of his face. "I am happy Isaac. I really like you. Thank you for being here and thank you for coming back. You can wait here. Whatever you want. I'm going to talk to the girls."

"Go," he said. "And I really like you too, Ari."

She already had him at arm's length when he said it, and she squeezed his hand. "I'll see you in a few," she said.

He nodded at her before she turned to run off in a hurry to meet the others. If Isaac was less confident of a man, he would have been insanely jealous. He was so thankful there was nothing inappropriate with the video. Even still, his blood was running hot just watching Ari in this setting. It was difficult to leave, but he didn't want to stay and hang around for another hour.

As he left the park, he glanced back and watched Ari go to the group of girls and begin talking to them. He loved her, and that was all there was to it.

There was shopping close by. Isaac had seen some stores on his way there. He found his car and headed toward the retail section. Isaac was in unchartered territory emotionally, and he was contemplating the feelings he was having toward Ari when he saw the sign for a jewelry store. He had never been in a jewelry store before—he never had a reason to. But he stared at the sign as he approached the strip mall, and he knew he was going inside.

He parked nearby and got out. There was a grocery store with a coffee shop, a sunglasses shop, and tons of other places. It was a nice, upscale strip mall and Isaac could have wasted an hour doing something besides buying Ari jewelry, but buying her jewelry was the thing he most wanted to do.

He went inside having no idea what to expect. There were glass cases everywhere and several people in the store were staring down, peering into them. One of the attendants, an older woman, left a couple and walked over to Isaac once he made it inside.
