"They are, and I love them. Do you like them?"

We both glanced down at my leather booties, and I lifted my leg and wiggled my foot.

"Plus they're comfortable," I added.

"Did you go by Claire's after you left the restaurant?"

I nodded. "Yes, and it's amazing in there. I wanted to buy so many things. She's got the best stuff."

"I'll buy you anything you want," he said, staring at the side of my face.

"I'll buy you anything you want, too," I said back to him, causing him to smile.

I turned and looked at him when I said it, and he kissed me.

"Cal was freaked out that I knew him and we had just met," I said.

"Cal loooves you," Isaac said. "He was talking about you after you left the restaurant. I had to tell him we're engaged because he couldn't understand you having a ring on your finger and me not having one. He didn't get the whole promise ring thing, so I just told him we were engaged."

After he said that, he leaned in and kissed me. Kiss after gentle kiss rained down on me. I could feel his warm mouth on my skin, and I did my best to remember to breathe. I wanted to turn to him and kiss him deeply, but I held back. I stayed still, letting him kiss the side of my face tenderly.

It was exquisite, and my heart pounded. I did my best to remember everything that was happening in the moment because it was perfect. Over and over again Isaac kissed me.

"Aren't you going to say something?" he asked.

"About what?"

He let out a breathy laugh and I felt it against my cheek. "About me telling Cal we're engaged."

Isaac kissed me on the mouth. He leaned and aimed at my mouth, and I turned to him, giving him full access. He put his hand on the side of my face, and we shared a tender but deep kiss that had me feeling like I was made of warm marshmallow. We kissed slowly, but he opened his mouth to me, and I was breathing heavily when he pulled back.

"I am fine with you telling Cal that," I said, finally. "I’m yours, Isaac. Whatever you ask me to do, I'm in."

"Those are dangerous words," he said.

"Dangerous for you or for me?" I asked.

"Both, but I meant for you. You never know what I'll ask when you give me those loose parameters."

"Pu-who-a-what?"

"Parameters," he said.

"I know what you said, but that word doesn’t pertain to anything I feel about you. Parameters come nowhere near my mind when I'm thinking about you." I spoke slowly, as our bodies comfortably rested next to each other.

"What does come to your mind when you think about me?" he asked, flirting with me. I opened my mouth to rattle off a bunch of honest responses, but everything sounded so cheesy.

"I was going to say several different things just now, and I couldn't decide which one because they all sounded so serious. I love being here. I love being next to you. I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be, now or any other time."

He moved until his face was only inches from mine. Slowly, he came closer to me until our noses touched. I wanted him to kiss me so badly that I was shaking.

"You said a lot of loves in that," he said. "Every time you said you love something, I thought you were about to say you love me."

"I do," I said easily. "I already told you."

"Let me hear how it sounds again."

"Love you," I answered. "I definitely love you."
