I snorted, appreciating her attempt to cheer me up.

“Seriously, babe. Do what you want. You want them both? Have them both. You don’t have to have answers now.”

I nodded. “Fair point.”

“I mean, a vague idea of your principals and feelings would be good, but you know that already.”

“I do.”

“So, are we still trying to seduce Valen?”

I sighed. “How long do I try to seduce and man who says he doesn’t want me?”

“Do you honestly believe he doesn’t want you?”

“Maybe his restraint is better than mine?”

“So? Fuck his restraint. Fuck him.”

“Preferably.”

She snorted. “Exactly. Is it back to the pearls and pastels for Princess Harlow now, then?”

I shook my head. “Not always. That’s not who I am, and I don’t want to just hide away all the time. Not anymore. My future’s no less mapped out, but if Apollo wants me –me– then maybe my future won’t be quite as grey as I thought.”

“So, in seducing Valen we accidentally seduced Apollo?”

“Seems that way.”

“We’re okay with that?”

I nodded. “I think we are.”

“Okay, good. Good to know where we stand.” She stretched. “But, if we’re going to delve any further in this, then I’m going to need caffeine and pastries.”

“Multiple?”

“Of course,” she said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

I nodded with a wry smirk. “Of course.”

We got dressed and meandered down to the campus café. As we went, I got a message from Apollo

Apollo

Where are you?

Harlow

Why? Where are you?

Apollo

At your dorm.

Harlow

We’re on our way to the café.
