And that’s exactly what we dive into. The hardest part is acceptance. But that’s what we need to move on. Forgive, accept, and move on.

It’ll take a long time, but I have faith I’ll get there.

It’s a cold November day, and the holiday season is right around the corner. The wind blows in with a fierce chill, but I don’t move from my spot on the beach. This place has become my favorite spot since moving here, and seeing as it’s directly across the street from school, it’s perfect.

I’m excited to celebrate the holidays with Tyler this year and to decorate the apartment with Madison. We plan on getting a big tree, one that stretches as high as our eight-foot ceiling.

Tyler even agreed to a small one for his apartment.

Sometimes I still need to remember he lives here now and that it's not just a dream. But he’s here, and we’re stronger than we’ve ever been.

“Hey, you! I thought I would find you here.”

Tyler appears beside me, and I squint up at him. “Hi there. I wasn’t expecting you for another hour.”

“Yeah, boss let me off early. I tried texting you.”

“Sorry, I left my phone in my car. Technology break or whatever.”

Tyler grins and shuts his phone off. “Don’t mind if I join you.” He slides it into his pocket and wraps an arm around my shoulders. “My gorgeous girl, how was your Friday?”

“Typical. You?”

“Same. But I’m glad it’s the weekend. And if I remember correctly, someone has a birthday tomorrow?”

“Nope, you don’t remember correctly.”

“Aw, my little Scorpio. I know I do.”

“Can we just keep it simple? Just me, you, pizza, Netflix, and sexy times.”

“Mmm,” Tyler says as he nuzzles my hair. “That sounds amazing. But you forgot one thing.”

“What?”

“A cake.”

“I didn’t forget.”

“We’re at least having a cake.”

“Okay, okay. But how about if you make it?”

Tyler makes a face. “Me? Bake a cake? Yeah, we definitely don’t want that. I doubt it’ll be edible.”

I laugh. “Oh, c’mon, it’ll be fun. We can get sprinkles and frosting.” I wink.

“My dirty little vixen. I know where your mind is going.”

“Maybe you do. Maybe you don’t.”

He tickles my sides and then wraps a hand around the back of my neck, pulling my head closer to him. His lips inches from mine, his hot sweet breath on my face. I melt beneath him, putty in his hands. “Oh, Goody, I do.”

He kisses me like it’s our last time, with so much passion and love poured into it, I lose my breath.

My heart pounds so hard, I swear I’ll break a rib, but there’s no way to stop it.

Tyler makes my body do crazy things. Like fireworks, there’s a chain reaction of explosions, each one bringing us closer and closer together.
