“Got naked, got each other off. Then slept in his bed together until morning.”

Shock keeps me still, because I didn’t expect that, but the thought of the two of them together… It’s strangely hot and sweet at once. “No. I’m not jealous.”

“Why the hell not?” he demands.

“Because I want you both and love you both and I’m glad you want each other, too!” I shout.

We’re panting in each other’s faces, Ashton’s eyes are wide, his brows arched in surprise. A vein in his neck is beating frantically, echoing the pulse booming in my ears.

Time slows.

“Hey, hey.” Someone’s hands are on Ashton, tugging. It’s Sindri, I realize dimly. “What are you doing, Ash?”

“Talking,” he grinds out but his eyes have now dropped to my mouth. “You really don’t mind what Jason and I did?”

“What did you and Jason do?” Sindri mutters.

“I think it’s hot,” I say.

Ashton groans. “Dammit.”

“Maybe we should move this discussion elsewhere,” Sindri says after a long beat. “Come with me. I know a place where we won’t be disturbed.”

ASHTON

All the pressure inside my head—my brother in the hospital, my sister being strangely apologetic and cryptic, Ophelia’s enchantment, Sindri and Jason almost dying for me—it’s too fucking much. Add to that how weird I’d felt about having to break the news to Mia that I screwed around in bed with Jason, as if my life wasn’t complicated enough already, and I was ready to snap the moment she confronted me.

I mean, I’ve gone through the morning trying to think past the blinding headache, trying to think up a sort of plan about getting through to Jason and Emrys, about finding out more about this Ophelia and the Golden Moon, but it was useless.

And now I’m pressed up against Mia’s soft curves, hard and confused and so fucking relieved that she’s okay with what happened with me and Jason, and Sindri is there, his masculine scent mingling with her sweet one and making me dizzy.

Then he’s saying something about a place where we won’t be disturbed and hauling me away by the hand, trusting me to bring Mia along.

He shoves a nondescript door open and switches on a light. It’s a storeroom. I glance around as he goes and throws a bolt on the door.

“Now,” he says, “we can talk.” He leans on the door for a moment, breathing hard. “Without everyone listening in.”

“You should be in bed,” Mia tells him, her small face shifting into lines of worry. “You and Jason, you both need to rest and stop running around like nothing’s wrong.”

“I get bored in bed without company.” He turns his sharp grin on us. “You left, so I left, too.”

“As if you have trouble finding girls and boys to warm up your bed,” I drawl.

“Well, maybe I wasn’t in the mood for other boys and girls.” His lashes sweep down and good lord, is that a flush spreading on his cheeks?

“Sin—” I start.

But it’s Mia who goes to him and cups his face. And me who’s jealous, a hot flare in my chest making me want to rip them apart, get in between them.

I’d stay here, I think,I’d stay with them, watch them kiss and I’d kiss them, too. She’s right, it’s hot.

Holy shit.

“Ash?” She’s looking at me expectantly, as if she’s already asked me a question. Maybe she has.

“What?”
