“I can’t wait.”

“I love you.”

Her eyes were bright with tears. “Love you, too. But now I have to go. I have to get ready for my bridegroom.”

“We can always elope, you know?”

“Sorry—I want to get married to you today in front of the whole town. They’ve been gossiping about us long enough. We have to show them we’re making this legal.” She grinned. “See you later. I have a surprise for you tonight.”

“So have I, babe, so have I.”

He was still grinning like an idiot many minutes after they’d ended the call.

There was a huge marqueetent outside Logan and Charlie’s house.

Brooke stopped as she and Logan walked out of his and Charlie’s house. “Where did that come from?”

Logan grinned. “As with Blake and Lindsay’s wedding, the whole town pitched in. Mom was on the phone for most of the night. I don’t think she or Charlie or Lindsay have slept.”

“I thought it would only be the family...”

“You know Mom. Happy?” he asked her.

“Very happy.”

“Dad...” Logan inhaled deeply. “He would’ve been so proud of the woman you’ve become.”

Brooke couldn’t speak; her heart was overflowing. She put her head against her brother’s shoulder.

“Ready?” he asked.

Swallowing the lump in her throat, she nodded. “So ready.”

The three dogs, all sporting colored ribbons around their necks, were standing at the entrance of the tent. “Look at them, so cute. Where’s Jack?”

Before Logan could answer, Connor appeared in the opening of the tent with Jack in his arms.

“She’s here!” he yelled, and with the laughter of everyone in Alisson in the background, Brooke walked into the tent toward her bridegroom, her lover, her future.

––––––––

It was late when Gavincarried her into their house. “You happy?” Slowly, he slid her down his body.

“Very happy. We had a beautiful wedding. And the whole town pitched in to help again. I didn’t think we could do this a second time, but it was a great success.”

“Have I told you how much I love your dress?” His gaze was on his fingers, tracing the upper line of her breasts just visible above the sweetheart neckline of the top.

Turning her slowly around, he played with the tiny buttons at the back of the dress. “These have been driving me crazy all night,” he whispered. As his lips followed the line of her satiny shoulders, she sighed contentedly.

“You make me feel like the most beautiful woman on earth.”

“That’s because you are,” he whispered, his fingers busy with the tiny buttons. “I love my sisters and I love your family, but I’m very glad to be alone with you, at last. And tomorrow, I’m taking you away for a few days.”

She looked at him over her shoulder. “I didn’t think you’d have time...”

“Logan, Charlie, and Ellie are going to Seattle for the next month. I have a few appointments with clients, but I can talk to them from anywhere. And your mom offered to look after Connor. All you have to do is pack your bikini.”
