“Hey, dad,” my daughter Melissa answers after the first ring. She and Slammer, have been together now for almost a year now, and I’m loving having her around. Finding out about her after twenty-some years was like a kick in the gut, and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to find out I had more kids out there.

“Hey, darlin’ girl, how’s the pregnancy going?” She gave birth a few months back, and already Slammer has her knocked up.

“This one is killer, my other pregnancies weren’t near as bad, but I’m on bed rest for the time being.”

“Damn, you need anything you just ask. I’ll be there.”

“I know, dad.”

“Wanted to tell you I met someone; I’ll bring her around soon.”

Her breath hitches. “Really?”

“Yeah, baby girl, really.”

“That’s great, who is she, how old is she? What’s her name?” she rapid fires.

“Justine, she’s twenty-five,” I answer hesitantly, not sure how she’ll take to a woman her age.

“Dad, she’s my age, are you sure?”

“Yeah, I’m sure, she’s something else, you and her could actually relate to each other on a certain level.” I hint at the mother situation.

Melissa’s breath hitches again. “Her mom hurt her?” The doctor’s notes I read suspect the mother, and while I don’t know for sure, it wouldn’t be her father, or the man she knows as her father. I’ve watched the house and he seems to visit regularly. If he had abused her, I doubt the bitch would let him on her property.

“She doesn’t know I know, but yeah, she did.”

“I’ll give her a chance when we meet, but does she know you have a grown-ass daughter?” Melissa laughs.

Shit, I don’t think I said anything about that yet. But there is always time for that later. “Not yet, but she will when we go on our date tomorrow.” Justine probably doesn’t even know how old I am.

“What does she do for a living?”

“She’s an author.”

“Oh, oh, oh, oh, shit. I think I know of her! Now that you say Justine, it wouldn’t happen to be Justine Reid, would it?”

My brows furrow, “Yes?”

“Damn, dad, she writes hardcore biker romances. She’s got a bit of other shit going on, too, but for the most part she’s a biker writer.”

Well, fuck, my daughter’s already a fan. “You like her books?”

“Dad, I love her books, just the right amount of spice and real life thrown into something that’s fiction.” Makes me wonder where she gets inspired from and if she’ll write another book based on me.

“Daddy, can I call mommy, please?” Emily calls out from the doorway of her room.

“Gotta go, Emily just asked to call her mom.”

“Damn, April still trying to brainwash her?”

Melissa barely sees Emily because April is sure she’ll turn the kid against her. April hates Melissa because she’s my kid, no other reason. April thought she was getting somewhere with me, instead she only got my dick, and not even for long. But each day that passes, makes me want to keep Emily to myself, and tell April to fuck herself.

That bitch cost me my wife, purposely putting her in Vicky’s class. Bitch knew not to mess with me after we had words about that shit, but damage was done. Vicky put up with a lot of shit, but seeing my kid with her own two eyes, she was done.

I tried to get Vicky back, but she was in love with my brother, the brother I thought was dead, her first love. I knew I could never compete with him, so I let her go. But that woman, she drew me in, I wanted her, needed her, and now I’ve lost her.

Justine reminds me of her in more ways than one, but it’s different at the same time. Maybe I’m clinging onto the past, I don’t know. I won’t know until I have Justine underneath me, screaming my name.
