“You should sit down,” he tells me.

“I already know, dad.” I give him a look but sit down anyways. “Eileen is dead, I know how, I know why, and I know where.”

Dad has a tear leak from his eye that he wipes away quickly. “I hated her, but I never wished her death.”

I grab his hands in mine and give him a squeeze. “I found out I have a half-brother,” I blurt when he finally gets himself under control.

“What?”

“His name is Hunter, he’s about ten years older than me and he’s the president of a rival MC.” I fill him in on everything that happened to me, the kidnapping, the meeting of Hunter, how mom was there. All of it. dad looks visibly shaken.

“You’re okay, though?” he asks finally.

“Yes, daddy, I’m perfectly fine. I’m a little in over my head, so much going through it, but I’m safe, I’m fine.”

“Where is Carson?” he asks.

“We broke up.”

“What? Why?”

“He couldn’t keep it in his pants, but he’s saying I’m still his and he’s not giving me up.”

Dad shakes his head. “I know how you feel about cheating, but that man loves you, worships the ground you walk on, even I can see that. Hold your grudge, but at some point, you’ll realize life is too short.” He’s right, especially after Eileen’s death, holding onto all the hate that we’ve both been holding onto hasn’t been good for us.

I just don’t know if I can forgive him, what he did gutted me. I don’t even care anymore about the kidnapping. It worked out in the end. But now every time I close my eyes, all I see is that bitch riding Carson’s cock like a rodeo queen.

“I’m gonna head home, I have funeral arrangements to make.” He sighs, and rubs a hand over his face, looking worn down. “Call if you need me to come back, and, Justine, think about this stuff with Carson.” He gets to the door and turns back to me. “He hurts you again, club or not, I’ll kill him myself.” With that, he walks out of the house, and heads home.

Can it be that easy, can I really forgive him? Right now, everything in me is screaming no. but other parts of me want him still. I can’t think about this right now, though. I don’t want to. I’m too worn out from it all.

I grab myself a quick bite to eat and get back to my book, I’m determined to have this finished by the time I go to bed.
