I picture Archer’s tongue between my legs.

I sigh. “I thought you were going to kick me out.”

“I could never do that, Jaci,” Dean Tahg says. “You belong here.”

The phone on his desk rings and he apologizes to me as he takes the call.

After a few random noises he hangs up and stands.

“Forgive me, Jaci,” he says. “Linda needs me to sign something. I’ll be right back.”

As soon as Dean Tahg leaves the office, I look at my folder.

It’s turned a little, sort of hidden under another folder.

I can see my first name.

Jaci.

The last name…

Starts with aR.

Ruby?

Nope.

I see aRyl…

My real last name starts withRyl.

I reach for the folder and the office doors opens again.

Dean Tahg comes right back in.

I try to act casual as he sits down.

He begins to talk about housing, food and classes.

I can’t stop looking at the folder.

I want Dean Tahg to move the other folder so I can see my name.

But if he does that… will Archer then kill me?

Or can I keep it a secret?

Dean Tahg moves the folders!

My eyes go wide and my heart breaks when I see Dean Tahg slide the top folder over the other folder, covering my name.

He then escorts me out of the office and offers to walk me to class.

I nod.

He now talks the entire time.

Offering up little bits and pieces of the history ofDSC.
