I look back and widen my eyes.

Birdie puckers her lips and blows a kiss at me.

“I’ll take care of this,” Maz says.

She wraps an arm around Birdie and walks her away.

“What did I do?” Birdie asks. “I didn’t make any inappropriate comments about Cullen Doyle. It’s not like I said I secretly want to sit on his face…”

I force a smile as I cringe.

“Cullen,” I whisper.

“Answer my question, love.”

“What?”

“Do you have plans tonight?”

“I don’t know. It’s been a long day for me.”

“I know it has,” he says. He reaches out and strokes my cheek with one hand. “Ever hear of the bandPawn Charm?”

“Are you serious? They’re my favorite band ever.”

“Had a feeling about that,” he says. “Why don’t we get off campus for a little bit later?”

“Can I have Maz and Birdie come too?” I ask.

“Of course, love,” Cullen says. “Oh, by the way, bring your guitar.”

“What?”

“You know what? Never mind. That’ll be too much to drag around. I’m sure if you meet the band they can sign something else. Or just take some pictures.”

“Meet the band?” I ask. “Is that possible?”

Cullen winks.“I guess you’re going to find out, love.”

Chapter 42

Pawn Charmnever got to be huge.

Which sucks.

They’re amazing.

Two lead singers - male and female.

Both play guitar.

Then a bassist.

And their drummer.

Ledowas kind of a big deal to me for a while.

Tall, skinny, tattoos from his shoulders down to his wrists.
