The door closes but it’s seen some abuse.

Then there’s the front window.

One side is broken and boarded up.

The house looks and feels old, dirty, and dangerous.

“See what you wanted to see, love?” Cullen asks me.

I swallow hard.

I feel tears fill my eyes but the feeling goes away in a few seconds.

I nod and return my tight grip on Cullen’s body.

He revs the engine for a second, then we’re off.

This feels like a message.

Not from Fay. Not from Cullen.

Not from Archer. Or anyone else.

It’s like a message from myself to me.

Fay’s house is crumbling. Cracked.

Broken glass.

Boarded up window.

That’s my past.

And the past is crumbling.

Cullen takes a turn and speeds up really fast.

This is my present and my future.

Cullen and Archer.

DSC.

And to find out who I really am.

Chapter 64

We arrive back toDSCand Cullen takes me right to the dorm.

He’s like a bad boy dream the way he handles his motorcycle.

And himself.

I take the helmet off and hand it to him.

“Thank you, Cullen,” I whisper.

“Anything for you, love,” he says. “I get what that place means to you. But that’s not who you are anymore, Jaci. That’s who you were. It’s where you grew up it’s not where you live.”
