(Well, he has saved me, right?)

“If you threaten her again, I’m going to do something about it,” Cullen says.

“That’s my problem with theHeirs,” Archer says. “So much talk. I prefer theSavages. We just take what is ours.”

“Which includes orders from theHeirs,” Cullen says. “Have you forgotten how this works?”

Archer looks ready to pounce.

I glance at Cullen and see him ready to attack too.

I slowly put my hands out.

Little me.

Standing there with these rich college guys. Guys tied to the mafia.

The freaking mafia.

And I place my right hand to Cullen’s chest.

My left hand to Archer’s chest.

I wasn’t trying to feel their rock-hard chests.

But I also wasn’t going to not note mentally just how rock-hard their chests were.

What the hell do these mafia guys eat?

“You’re not going to fight over me,” I say.

Now I sound like a-

“Princess,” Archer whispers. “You dirty princess.”

“She’s my dirty princess,” Cullen says. “Rules are rules.”

“Fuck your rules,” Archer says. “She was mine first. Long before she stepped foot into this place.”

I have to think of something else to say.

Before I can attempt to speak, there’s a loud crash behind me.

I turn my head and see Maz picking Birdie up off the floor.

There’s glass everywhere and people startbooing at Birdie.

She gets to her feet, adjusts her glasses, and does a little curtsey move.

A swell of people begin to push from the kitchen.

The area where I’m standing fills up more and more.

Archer turns a little and someone bumps into him.

He throws an elbow and all I see is blood spatter into the air.

I feel someone grab my right arm and pull.
