Cullen gives a nod, and the guys walk away.

They all turn and kind of just scatter.

“So that’s… what… the next in line for the mafia?” I ask.

“We all are, love,” Cullen says. “Even you.”

I shake my head.

Cullen touches my cheek.

God, his eyes are so bright and powerful.

And his face is just so perfect.

I feel myself almost shaking.

“Think about what you said a minute ago,” Cullen whispers.

“About?”

“Your last name.”

“Okay. And?”

“What did you say?”

“I made a comment that my name is Ruby. And Ruby doesn’t sound like a mafia name.”

“That’s right, Jaci,” Cullen says.

“So?”

Cullen brushes his lips to my right ear, making me shiver.

Then he whispers to me…

“It’s because Ruby isn’t your real last name.”

Chapter 11

Cullen walks me to my next class.

It’s some bullshit literature class.

But, apparently, I’m supposed to be there.

Just like I’m supposed to be atDSC.

Just like I’m supposed to be anHeirinstead of aThorn.

And I guess my last name isn’t real.

As I stand at the bottom of a tall set of concrete steps, Cullen looks at me.

He’s gorgeous.

Like nobody I have ever met before.
