“Someone lied,” Cullen says. “We don’t tolerate lying.”

“Neither do we,” Archer says.

I’m stuck between Cullen and Archer.

Just like it was before Seth came back into my life.

Now I just need to grab each of their shirts and make a move…

Chapter 36

“Do you understand now, Jaci?” Cullen asks.

“I understand,” I say.

“Nothing was forced either,” Archer says.

“But there was a conversation,” I say. “There was an offer.”

They know I’m not stupid.

I know they’re not stupid.

The heat between us rages hotter.

But I’m trying to keep things serious.

“We should have a conversation too,” I say. “About my family.”

“You sure about that, sweet thing?” Archer asks.

He shows me his knife.

I glance at Cullen.

I try to imagine how this would go down.

How violent and bloody it would be.

Death. It would be nothing but death.

“I hate this,” I say.

I shut my eyes and hate myself for what I do next.

I place my left hand to Cullen’s chest. My right hand to Archer’s chest.

I push at them.

Neither move.

But I do.

I walk forward, toward the open bedroom door.

Leaving them behind.

I know they’re both staring at me.
