Why not throw in a third guy and make it much more complicated?

Seth is like the anti-everything aboutDSC.

Maybe in some twisted way, he’s my sense of balance.

Even though nothing feels like it’s in balance. Or ever will be again.

I hurry out to the porch and find Seth standing there with his arms crossed.

I want to jump into his arms again but I remember what happened a short while ago.

Seth looks right at me. “I just needed a walk.”

He’s reading my mind. My eyes. My body language.

He then nods.

That’s when I lunge for him again.

This time he catches me and hugs me back.

He smells dirty and clean at the same time.

His skin is clean.

Meaning he’s showered off the murder.

Murder.

I shiver.

His clothes smell… used. Worn.

A hint of the fall air and dead leaves. A touch of sweat.

Laced with…murder.

That word, again.

Seth puts me back on my feet and I reach for his face.

He grabs my wrists.

Then he looks beyond me.

I look back, Cullen and Archer are on the porch now.

Seth lets my wrists go and I turn.

Seth towers over me.

In some weird way I feel like I’m choosing sides or something here.

The tension is way too intense.

Much more than normal.

Archer steps to the side and leans against the house. He puts his left foot back against it. His knife is still comfortably held in his right hand.
