Cullen takes a step forward.
“She knows,” he says to Seth.
“I can tell,” Seth says.
“She needs to know,” Cullen says.
“I didn’t say I gave a fuck,” Seth said. “Not that you would care about my opinion.”
“Why are you back here, Vossenax?” Archer asks.
“To get what I’m owed,” Seth says.
“If you’re thinking about sweeping Jaci off her feet and taking her away from this place, it won’t happen,” Cullen says with a smirk.
Sometimes I love his smirk.
This time I kind of hate it.
I can feel where this conversation is going to go now.
“Jaci knows how to make her own choices,” Seth says. “Plus, if I want her, I’ll just take her. Like I did once before.”
Archer throws himself from against the house toward Seth.
The knife ready to cut his throat open.
I gasp and step to the side.
Part of me wants to see Seth get cut for what he just said.
Cullen jumps in and stops Archer.
“Fuck off, Doyle,” Archer growls. “I’m aSavage. This is what I’m meant to do.”
“We’re brothers then,” Seth says. “Isn’t that right?”
“No,” Cullen says. “It’s not right. It never will be right. You can keep asking all you want. Show up all you want. It won’t happen.”
“Even with what I just did for you?” Seth asks.
“That was the deal?” I ask. “You told him to kill someone so he could become aSavage?”
“No, love,” Cullen says to me.
“Bullshit,” Seth says.
“We voted,” Cullen says. “We talked. I kept my end of the deal.”
“You will never be aSavage,” Archer says. “You’ll never have protection. It will never happen.”
“You screwed him over,” I call out.
Now I’m fighting Seth’s battles?
“No,” Cullen says. “He stepped intoDSC. He took you, Jaci. He had and still has a lot to make up for. This was just part of it. This was a reminder of who is actually in control.”
Archer even smirks right then.
