Seth stomps his feet one at a time on the floor and folds his arms.
He’s not going anywhere.
I look at Maz and Birdie again.
“Keep talking,” I say.
“They realized beating the hell out of each other wasn’t going to help,” Maz says. “So they teamed up. Which is kind of deadly. I mean, to think that Archer was supposed to be anHeir. That’s scary. They are really powerful guys. With really powerful families behind them.”
“So what did they do?” I ask.
“You want to know how far they went for you?” Birdie asks. “This is turning you on, isn’t it?”
“Can I check and verify?” Seth asks.
“Go shove our fingertips up your ass,” Birdie says to Seth.
“Then can I get that drink?” Seth asks.
“They searched the entire campus for you,” Maz says. “They went into every room. Every dorm. Every building. Everyone knew to stay out of their way too. Even Dean Tahg knew to stay away. He played damage control. But Cullen and Archer beat so many people up.”
“Just randomly too,” Birdie says. “How about Rowe…”
“What happened to Rowe?” I ask.
“Archer broke his nose,” Maz says. “All because Rowe nodded to him.”
“And then Axton,” Birdie says. “Cullen put a gun to his head. Threatened to shoot him.”
“In front of a lot of people,” Maz says.
“They’re scary together,” Birdie says.
“Dangerous,” Maz says. “Add with how they feel about you…”
“Have you been cheating on me?” Seth asks.
I turn so fast, I’m dizzy.
I want to lunge at him and kill him, but the room is spinning.
Seth starts to laugh.
I can’t wait for Cullen and Archer to kill him.
Seth sits on the couch with a small bottle of vodka.
Maz was able to find it in her room.
That keeps Seth mostly quiet.
Me, Maz, and Birdie are in Maz’s room.
Sitting on her bed.
“So they’ve been looking for me?” I ask.
“Big time,” Maz says. “They definitely care about you. A lot. It’s scary around here. Especially after…”
