“Can I get a beer or something?” Seth asks.

“We’re not talking to you,” Birdie says. “Asshole.”

“I’m still thirsty,” he says.

“I’m going to tape your mouth shut if you don’t shut up,” Maz warns.

“Get me a drink first,” Seth says. “Then you can tape my mouth shut.”

Seth puckers up.

I look at him and shake my head.

Seth steps back and puts his hands behind his back.

“Now tell me what’s going on,” I say to Maz and Birdie.

“Sit down,” Maz says.

“I’ve been sitting down,” I say. “I’ve been handcuffed to a bed.”

“You handcuffed her to a bed?” Birdie yells at Seth.

“Does that make you jealous?” Seth asks.

“Just tell me what’s happening,” I say.

“Cullen and Archer are… friends,” Maz says.

“What?” I ask.

“They’ve been working together,” Birdie says. “Without hitting each other.”

“That’s impossible,” I say.

“It’s happening,” Maz says. “Archer has been up atMakson Ridgeever since you went missing.”

“They had their moments at first though,” Birdie says.

“What kind of moments?” I ask.

“You know,” Maz says.

She puts up her fists.

“They fought each other?” I ask.

“Yeah,” Birdie says. “They blamed one another. They each have reasons to I guess. You’re a very popular girl, Jaci.”

“She tastes delicious too,” Seth says. “And I can say that from experience.”

“Wait a second,” Birdie says. She looks at me. “Did he handcuff you and did you like it? Did you two fool around?”

“No!” I cry out.

“She wanted to though,” Seth says.

“I want you to die,” I spat at him. “And believe me, when Cullen and Archer get their hands on you, it’s going to happen. Your time is counting down. You should just leave now.”
