“Way too late, sweet thing,” Archer adds.

“This is adorable to watch,” Seth says. He looks at me. “They have names for you.Loveandsweet thing. That’s the cutest thing I ever heard.”

Cullen puts the gun against Seth’s left temple.

“Keep going, fucker,” Cullen growls. “You have no idea who I am. Who I’m connected to. You’re a piece of street trash.”

Seth glances at Archer. “What about you? Are you going to state your case next? Tell me how powerful you are?”

“I don’t need to tell you who I am,” Archer says. “Jaci can do that. Ask her what I did for a friend of hers.”

Seth looks at me again.

My chin quivers.

Cold air and fresh anxiety.

“Tell me what he did,” Seth says to me.

“There was a guy who got a little too touchy with Birdie,” I say. “Archer killed him.”

“Wow,” Seth says.

“So which one is it?” Cullen asks. “Or which one first? The gun or the knife?”

“You’re going to kill me right now?” Seth asks.

“No, we’re going to have a party,” Archer says.

“I’m not in the mood for a party,” Seth says. “Jaci wore me out. In my bed. All that time.”

Cullen pushes the gun against Seth’s head with force, driving him back.

I clutch my hands tight.

I don’t know what to do.

Seth stumbles back and shows his hands.

He refuses to defend himself.

Archer steps closer to Seth.

I see the blade of the knife.

Inches from Seth’s body.

“The thing is, you’re not going to kill me tonight,” Seth says.

“I’m not afraid to see it,” I call out.

“Thanks for that,” Seth says.

“Jaci, go inside and warm up,” Cullen says.

“Fuck you, I’m not walking away,” I say.

Cullen looks at me and curls his lip.
