“Fuck yourself,” Archer growls and he shoves Seth between his shoulder blades.

Archer pauses and looks at me.

He shows me the knife.

He lifts it up and turns it around, placing the dull end under my chin.

I look up at him.

“Fuck, I missed you,” he says.

My knees almost give out.

Archer goes into the house with Cullen.

And Seth.

The door opens a few minutes later.

I’m shivering, hugging myself, no idea what’s going on.

Seth walks out of the house and comes toward me.

He’s ready to hug me when both Cullen and Archer grab at him and push him away.

I almost lunge for Seth.

I almost want him to hug me.

What is wrong with me right now?

“I guess I get to live to see another sunrise, Jaci!” Seth calls out.

“What happened?” I ask.

Seth turns around and backs down the first step.

“Just fucking leave,” Archer says. He points the knife at Seth. “Or you will die tonight.”

“I’m confused here,” I say, waving my arms.

“Don’t worry about it, Jaci,” Cullen says.

“Information keeps you alive,” Seth says.

Cullen charges at Seth and swings the gun.

Seth jumps back and almost falls down the steps.

I run forward and Archer wraps his left arm around me and holds me against his body.

The knife is in his right hand.

Pointed up at me.

“Deep breath, sweet thing,” Archer whispers. “If he keeps talking, he will die tonight. No matter what he knows.”

“What he knows… what does he know?” I ask.
