The shower is simply heaven.

I’m left alone but I’m not alone at all.

I know both Cullen and Archer are standing outside the bathroom.

It turns me on.

I’m safe and protected now.

The thing with Seth?

I don’t know what his deal really is.

Why he took me. Why he brought me back.

The fact that he talked to Cullen and Archer privately and was suddenly allowed to walk away…

There’s a lot to think about.

A lot of questions to ask.

A lot of arguing to be had.

For now, I just enjoy the shower.

I end up just standing there, my head back, letting the water caress my chest.

It’s like I can single out a few droplets of water.

Feeling them hit my chest, slide down over my breasts, slide down my belly, swirl around my belly button, and then inch down between my legs.

When I think like that, I curl my toes.

I hurry to shut off the water before my hands get curious and I succumb to my secret need.

I step out of the shower and dry myself with a fluffy towel that feels like a cloud.

And just like I predicted, when I open the bathroom door, both Cullen and Archer are waiting for me.

I stand there in a towel.

Nothing else.

My hair dripping wet.

Both of them staring at me with smoldering, dangerous eyes.

I picture Archer with his knife.

I picture Cullen with his gun.

My knees are wobbly again.

“You should get dressed, Jaci,” Cullen says. “Come on, love.”

He reaches for my left arm and guides me down the hallway toward my room.

Archer stays put.
