“We’re good with that,” Alex said. “Where is the rescue center?”

“It’s about three miles south of town.”

“Is the center near anything?”

“Nothing real close. It sits on about ten acres. Tawny has done a great job of fencing in a large area where the animals can run around—assuming they are in good enough shape to do so.”

“How easy would it be to sneak up on the place?” Alex asked.

Her eyebrows rose. “I never thought about it before. I don’t know. Why? Are you trying to figure out where you should position yourselves?”

His mate was smart.

“Yes.”

“You’re welcome to come inside. If you want, you can even play with the dogs outside. I’m sure they’d love that.”

If only Ariel knew that Liam and Alex were animals themselves, she’d know how true her statement was.

“Sounds great.”

After they finished eating, and Liam and Alex left, Benson and Preston cleaned up the dishes, probably because they could tell she was exhausted. Ariel had enjoyed meeting the two trainers, but the day had tired her out. To her delight, both seemed serious about helping to find Anna and in making sure Ariel stayed safe.

They had discussed some plans on how to find this Hammer Schmidt guy too. Of course, they had no proof he was involved in either stalking Ariel or in taking Anna. Since the man who’d used the computers at Pauline’s Coffee shop worked in some casino in Midvale, he might be the one. Normally, she wasn’t so ready to point a finger at someone without more evidence—though she had with Preston--but no one had any other suspects as high on the list as this Hammer guy. At the very least, he should be questioned.

Tomorrow, Benson said he would try to convince Trent to give him the name of the man or men he owed money to. As much as Ariel didn’t like Benson and Preston going after someone who could be a murderer, they promised her that they wouldn’t do anything without either informing Sheriff Granger or asking Liam and Alex to join them. She just hoped the newcomers were as good with weapons as they claimed.

Ariel yawned and then stood. “I’m going to head to bed. I have to be up early tomorrow. Just so you know, I am up for a little entertainment tonight should anyone want to join me.”

She laughed when both men jumped up at the same time. “You have no idea how hard it was to stay in my room last night,” Preston said. “Are you sure you’re not sore anywhere?”

She was bruised a little from where the vehicle had brushed against her hip, but a little pain was worth it if it meant she didn’t have to sleep alone. “As long as you don’t squish me too much, I’ll be fine.”

Preston’s eyes glowed, looking quite predatory. “When I take you tonight, you won’t even know I’m there.”

That’s not what she meant. “I wantsomeloving. I was merely saying that if you men have planned a little rougher activity than usual, I’ll have to ask for a slight delay.”

Preston caressed her cheek. “We’ll be careful.”

As if to prove what he said was true, he gently drew her close and kissed her slowly and thoroughly, all the while careful not to press too hard against her.

“Excuse me, you two. There are three of us, you know,” Benson said. “I’m heading to bed should you make it that far.”

When he strode off, she and Preston laughed. “It’s best to follow him. When Benson gets in a snit, he’s a hard one to please.”

Ariel was certain both men were kidding, but she’d let Preston think she believed him. It was fun to be with men who had a good sense of humor.

When they entered the bedroom a minute later, Benson was lying on his back stark naked. “Wow. You are a fast mover. I wanted to take off your clothes.”

He laughed. “Maybe next time. Right now, I need you too much to wait.”

Ariel couldn’t tell if he was teasing her or not. “For not letting me undress you, I’m going to take care of Preston first, and you have to watch.”

He placed his hand on his cock and pumped his fist up and down a few times. “I’m ready for the show.”

Ariel turned toward Preston. “You game?”
