“Okay, text me when you get there and let me know which one. I’ll head that way after I leave my mom’s house.”

“Okay, cool.”

As I ended the call, my mom said, “It sounds like congratulations are in order.”

“Yeah, Kahlil and Honey just had their first baby girl.”

“What about you? Do you plan on having children any time soon? Please tell me I didn’t ruin that for you.”

My head shook as I smiled softly. “You didn’t. Me not having the best childhood made me want to make sure I had a baby with someone I could trust to be there. But I’m not sure when that’s going to happen.”

For some reason, my mind immediately took me to Hosea. I wondered how many kids he wanted to have. When he wanted to start. How soon he wanted to get married. Me wondering those things didn’t make any sense. I told myself not to plan the future too far out in my head with any man. The fact that a person could just up and change their mind and break the vows they made to you… it made it difficult to see forever with anyone. Anyone except Hosea. When I thought of a future with Hosea, forever seemed possible. So why was I running away?

I’m not sure why I was nervous. I guess the intention behind what I’d prepared was what had me on edge. After spending yesterday with my mom then going to meet Baby Kayla, my perspective changed. I felt like I would do myself a disservice if I allowed the men I chose to keep me away from the man God had given me.

There was no doubt in my mind that Hosea and I were meant to be together. I wasn’t sure if our commitment to one another would be immediate, but we were basically in a relationship without the title at this point. Saying we were still just friends made everything feel safer, but the truth of the matter was, I was Hosea’s… and he was mine.

My fingers casually slipped across the diamond choker he’d gotten me, and I smiled. We’d kind of fallen back with the Dom/sub stuff, but the sex was still amazing. Hosea was right—I needed to regain my power more than I needed that kind of arrangement. I scanned the living room, trying to make sure everything was ready for his arrival. I’d told the front desk to let me know when Hosea was making his way up.

I’d fixed his favorite meal: steak, creamed spinach, and mashed potatoes. Since he enjoyed baking, I figured we would make dessert together. The lighting was low, and candles were burning. Rose petals were spread through the living room and his bedroom, and I also had a bouquet of red roses waiting for him, too. A soft playlist of love songs was playing in the background, and I hoped he appreciated the gesture. More than anything, I just wanted to let him know I appreciated him and loved having him in my life.

At the sound of the door unlocking, I stood and smoothed my dress out. It was a slinky, sexy, silk number I’d gotten while we were at the mall one day. Hosea loved the texture and the burgundy color on my skin, so I’d been waiting for the perfect opportunity to put it on.

Hosea slowly sauntered into the living room, smile growing as he took in all that I’d done.

“Tink,” he called, voice low and thick with emotion.

“I’ve been waiting for you.”

“What did I do to deserve this?”

“You were you,” I answered, making my way over to him. “I just wanted us to spend some time together, away from others, while I told you how much I appreciate you. How much I love having you in my life. I know we don’t have a title, but you’re the best man I’ve ever had, Zay, and I don’t want to lose you.”

“You won’t,” he assured me, cupping my cheeks and tilting my head. “You won’t.”

Our lips locked, and Hosea kissed me until my legs felt as limp as cooked noodles. His arms wrapped around me and he held me up, torturously tantalizing me with each swipe of his tongue and peck of his lips.

“Wow,” I muttered after he pulled away. “I didn’t know you were holding back all that.”

Hosea chuckled as he thumbed my lips. “Deeper levels require deeper intimacy. Imagine the way I’ll make love to you when you commit to being mine.”

“I already am yours.” My hand lifted to the choker. He kissed me again, and I knew if we kept going, dinner would be wasted. “Baby, you need to eat. I don’t want to have to reheat the steaks.”

With the cutest groan, Hosea walked over to the dining room area and pulled out my seat for me. He thanked me for everything, including the roses, then sat down himself to eat. Our conversation was light as we ate, and I was thankful for that. I didn’t want anything to distract us and make dinner take longer than it needed to. My pussy was leaking from the moment he stepped in the door, and I was ready for him to make his way inside.

Once dinner was over, I took our plates into the kitchen and washed them off before putting them in the dishwasher. It had two days’ worth of dishes in it, so I started it. As I wiped the stove down, the feel of Hosea wrapping his arms around me made me giggle as my body softened against him. Each kiss he placed on my neck made me feel like I was about to melt into a puddle at his feet.

He spun me around and wrapped my legs around him, saying, “Whatever isn’t done at this point can wait. I want you. Right now.”

Since he would get no complaints from me, I used my mouth to place kisses along his neck as he carried me to his room. Once we were there, I took control and make tonight all about him. He was visibly surprised by my bold move, but he surrendered to it happily.

I undressed him and dropped to my knees, taking him into my mouth and pleasuring him until he filled my mouth with his seeds.

“How did you know that’s exactly what I needed?” Hosea asked, lifting me to my feet by my hair.

“I want to please you just like you please me,” I made clear, leading him over to the bed.
