“Merry Christmas, beautiful,” I say, handing her the mug of coffee and watching as she sits up, her breasts on full display. I grin at the sight, and she throws a pillow my way, which I dodge.

“Hey, none of that. I’m still recovering from last night.” She smirks over the rim of her coffee. I roll my eyes and send her a mock glare. “What’s that?” she asks, pointing to the box in my hands.

“A present,” I deadpan as I sit down against the headboard.

“For me?” she asks innocently. I just shrug.

“Maybe…were you a good girl this year?” I tease, and she sets down her mug on the side table and moves to straddle me. My cock takes notice and she arches an eyebrow. I give her a look that says can you blame me, and she just smiles down at me. She sits back on my legs, her hands on mine, which are holding the box.

“Good girls are overrated,” she mutters, going in for a kiss.

“Damn straight they are,” I say, kissing her fiercely. I pull away and hear the sound of disappointment from JJ. I laugh as I hand her the box. My nerves are on edge as her fingers rip the paper off and my eyes meet her expectant ones.

I hold my breath as she opens the box and takes out the clear round ornament. I study her eyes as she looks at it, confused, then she sees the diamond ring hanging from a thin string inside.

“Liam…” she whispers, her fingers tracing the glass. Her tear-filled eyes meet mine as I smile, taking the ball from her fingers. I unscrew the top and it falls open, letting me take the ring from inside.

“Josephine-Jade Walker, I never expected to find you. You were an anomaly in my otherwise scheduled life. From the moment I saw you through my tinted window with that crazy bow in your hair and the sweater that still haunts both of us, I knew you were mine forever.” She laughs as tears fall from her eyes. My thumbs gently wipe them away as I smile up at her. “You are my everything. I never thought I would deserve someone like you. You are the light to my darkness, the sunshine to my clouds. I don’t work without you, so will you do me the honor of being my wife? Will you marry me?” My heart’s in my throat as I look at her tear-soaked eyes.

“Yes, yes, yes!” she screams as her lips find mine in a heated kiss that sends us both falling back onto the bed. The ornament falls from my hands and shatters to the ground, forgotten.

“Can I put this on you first?” I ask, pulling away and holding up the simple round French-cut diamond on a white gold band. It’s simple but stunning, just like my JJ. The moment the ring slips onto her finger, I take a deep breath.

This is my future. She is my future.

“I love you,” I say against her lips.

“I love you more,” she whispers as she stares at the ring in amazement.

“Not possible,” I say, taking her lips once more, because it’s true. There is no way anything can surpass the love I have for this woman. She is the beginning and the end, and I can’t wait to see what this life has in store for us.

The End
